1) AS A STORY:

High – Ho – The Merry-Oh! The Holiday Season is already upon us. It’s here. And we (even those of us who have our Weight pleasantly under Control and maintained) have a Plethora of Temptations in front of us that could pose to be(come) problematic. Therefore, I have created a Print Ad, TV Commercial and YouTube Video for Campbell’s Soup in which Campbell’s addresses this burgeoning and burning Issue that affects so many of our Family and Friends.

Endlessly reading and researching, I see that the Executive Staff at ‘Campbell’s Camp’ has already made the wise and humanitarian Choice of hiring Kim Fremont Fortunato as Director of its Childhood Obesity and Hunger Program. Keeping this highly relevant Position in Mind, my Creative (ie: creatiV8e) ‘Juices’ are flowing and have made a Print Ad, Prime Time TV Commercial and YouTube Video, whereby Santa Claus (a fat, jolly and oh-so-pleasant looking Old St. Nick) bedecked in his Holiday Best slides down the Chimney into a lovely Living Room of a Home. He stops in his Tracks and smells something aromatic swirling from behind a Closed Door, the Door that leads to the Kitchen, always known as the ‘Heart & Soul’ of the Home. Curious, Santa walks into the Kitchen knowing ‘The Family’ is fast asleep upstairs, tucked into Bed with Visions of Sugar Plums dancing in their Heads. Before he departs for ‘The Kitchen,’ the Hub of Activity, Santa spots a Plate heaped to the ‘Sky’ of festive Holiday Cookies, soaked in Frosting and Goo and a big Glass of Egg Nog (and/or Milk), the typical Treats that are traditionally left for Santa’s Consumption on Christmas Eve. After all, he has much to do and needs a Snack along his merry Way (or is it WEIGH?). He glances longingly at those Treats knowing they are HIS and all HIS before HIS Departure takes HIM upon HIS way. His Eyes are bright. They have the Santa Clause Twinkle that we have grown to love! He is all aglow and quite curious to see what exactly is happening in the next Room as there is quite a Clamor and Commotion to be heard! Something is happening here – something that has piqued his Curiosity.

The Door swings open to the Kitchen where we see the Little Campbell Children – no, not just the authentic and original Boy & Girl from Decades ago (that the BabyBoomers of the 1950s grew up with as myself) but also a Brown, Black, Chinese, Red-Skinned and one Child restricted to a wheel-chair) – measuring only about 4 inches in Height who are cooking, baking and whipping up many of the Foods that Campbell’s now sells as: Arnott’s, Blå Band, Campbell’s, DevosLemmens, Erasco, Stockpot, Lacroix, Liebig, Pace, Pepperidge Farm, Prego, Royco, Swanson, Touch of Taste & (my beloved – ie: beloV8ed) V8.

There’s a delicious Smell and aromatic Food Frenzy abounding. The Kitchen is brimming with Happiness. Everyone has a Job to do and they do it well, fortified on The Foods we have been brought up with and with The Foods we wish to bring our Families up with. Big Scoops and Ladles-full of Campbell’s Foods are being poured into Bowls, being stirred on the Stove, being placed on Racks; being taken to the Table. It’s a WoW: Wonderfully organized Whirlwind, much like Santa’s December 24TH Global Expedition is.

An amazed Santa looks around at this 3C: Civilized Culinary Commotion and realizes the Campbell’s Children (all heartily at work) are very similar to his Elves. There is a Flashback to his Workshop at The North Pole where The Elves are scurrying about preparing for his December 24TH Departure. Santa feels like he is really at home because of this Similarity and BELIEVES in what the Campbell’s Kids are cooking up! Believing is, after all, the True Spirit of this Holiday Season.

One of the Campbell’s Kids points to the Kitchen Table where Santa promptly sits down and begins eating Course-after-Course of Healthy Campbell Foods (all listed above). He smacks his Lips. He grabs a Napkin. He reaches for another Plate ‘n Platter. He smiles. He selects yet another Entrée. He pats his Belly. Then, one of the Campbell Kids grabs him by the Hand and they walk to an Exercise Bike in the Kitchen and a Set of Barbells – not too far from the Stove where the delicious Smells are emanating.

We then see Santa hop up on the Stationary Bike’s Seat and he begins peddling and smiling. The pervading Christmas Music quickens to the Beat of a Santa flexing his Biceps and Santa is now in his T-Shirt sweating away. All of this is done in ‘Fast Motion Tempo’ to show the Element of Time passing on by. Santa is really getting into his Exercise Routine & Mode. Then, his Rolex Watch sounds and Santa (like Cinderella before the Clock strikes the bewitching Hour of Midnight) must dash off to the next House. In haste, he runs through the Kitchen; through the Swinging Doors and into the Living Room where the Chimney is – both his Entry & Escape Routes. All of a sudden, the Heap of Sugar, Molasses and decorated Cookies turn into a Giant Goblet, Jug and/or Bottle of V8 Vegetable Juice, a Reminder of his Experience in the ‘Magical Campbell’s Kitchen’ which he just visited and quite unexpectedly so.

And in a Flash, Santa is whisked back up the Chimney, while his Reindeer have patiently waited outside on this snow-covered Roof. Arriving back at his Sleigh, Santa’s Reindeer do not immediately recognize him (at first) as he has lost 50 Pounds, but Mr. Claus looks so handsome and so much healthier, even in his (now) baggy Red Velvet & Faux Fur Ermine-trimmed Suit. Getting ready to embark, on the Rooftop, Santa places his Stash of V8 Vegetable Juices (all Varieties including: High Fiber, Essential Antioxidants, Spicy Hot, Original & Original: Low Sodium or Sodi-YUM) in the Sleigh. Magically, many of The Toys (secured in the Rumble Seat of the Sleigh) have turned into Exercise Bikes, Barbells, Workout Equipment and all fortified by the healthy Campbell Foods that will become Part of his new Lifestyle in 2011 AND your new Lifestyle in 2011, too!

THE CLOSING SCENE DETAILED DIORAMA: As he pats his Belly – a much slimmer and trimmer Belly – and wonders, Santa jumps into the Driver’s Seat with the Reindeer watching his every Move, the V8 Logo twinkles and is reflected in Santa’s Eyes while the Reindeer take off, going on to the next Home. High above the Earth, nearing the Moon, the circular Moon turns into the V8 Logo, etched in green and we see Santa raising a Glass of V8 up as a Toast to everyone’s new and improved Good Health across the World, believing the Best is yet to come…

ASK’s INSERT: EXPLANATION & REASONING AS TO WHY THIS WAS WRITTEN IN THIS STYLE & FORM(AT):

Several years ago, I remember a Campaign in which People (unfortunately, I do not recall who the Group was) wanted a slimmer and trimmer Santa Claus. The Main Concern of their Campaign was that he was not setting a good Example for Children, as he was carrying excessive Weight and Children are impressionable. However, because Santa is such an Icon, would a skinny Santa be as jolly, robust and lovable as the fatter, less healthy one? Would Toes be stepped on? Would the Spirit of Christmas suddenly become anorexic?

For those Individuals who are health-conscious, this Scenario spells-out that Santa could very easily suffer a Stroke, Diabetes and/or Risk having a Heart Attack. My Santa’s Campbell’s Advertisement/TV Commercial & YouTube Video here entitled:

Santa Claus DiscoV8ers V8®
is a very subtle Way of letting People know (through Animation, Toys, The Sense of Smell/Taste & Imagination) that it’s the End of the Year and their Holiday Feasts & Festivities can be (so and as) delicious and nutritious without the added Pounds that so many of us add. Then, of course, there is the (hovering and pervading) Guilt attached to Food and the ‘would’ve – could’ve – should’ve HAD A V8 INSTEAD’ Mantra pounds in our Heads, as it should be! My Santa’s Campbell’s Advertisement/TV Commercial & YouTube Video can be run every year at this Time of the Season (approximately from the 2ND Week of November through December 26TH). This Film/Video Presentation is a Win-Win Situation, entertaining, educational and V8ery appetizing, too!

V8 – Campbell Appoints Kim Fortunato Director of Childhood Obesity and Hunger Program


I am so glad to hear that Campbell's is leading the way/weigh once again in helping people out - not only with nutritious food since 1869, but now with the hiring of Kim Fremont Fortunato as Director of its Childhood Obesity +Hunger program. Obesity has become a terrible social disaster for people to fall into and with all the Temptations we have 'out there,' I can easily see why this is so. Besides stuffing one's emotions with food, people find it satisfies them to stuff their 'mouths' - thus causing alarming medical problems to begin.

THE IRONY OF IT ALL: In a country so rich, so many people cannot get a grip of or handle on their eating habits, while other people across the world are living on $1 a day or less and are starving. These ironies and dichotomies surround us daily. I scratch my head and wonder why. Hopefully, Campbell's will be able to influence others who are caught up in this Eating & Food Frenzy, as I call it in my Eat-ventological writings.

I read Kim's Bio (as posted above) and wanted to comment further as to her 'Coat Drive' as I am the Creator of: The Great American Warm-up (C)1994 happening the 2nd full Weekend of November (Nov 12-14) whereby: Schools, Families, Religious Groups gather coats and distribute them to the Poor - Needy and Destitute. GAW falls under my Writings known as Eventology and was listed by McGraw-Hill Publishers in their Chase's Book of Events. It's a Holidate that anyone can 'buy' into -- as it's designed to be goodwill, humanitarian and altruistic in nature.

My general feeling is - being brought up this way by my wonderful Mother, Betty F. Koopersmith is this:

Being warm, well-fed and healthy are tantamount in being the most productive a person can be. Then, a person(ality) thrives.

There's no reason why everyone should not feel this way.

In closing now: I am very happy to see that Campbell's has instrumented a plan in which to get us (Americans) and hopefully those around the globe (via other corporations) to proceed on a healthier note.

My last comment is that I started:

ASK's V8 Before 58 Challenge

in May of 2010. It ran for 100 days -- through August 8 -- in time for my 58TH Birthday & 40th year class reunion from high school. Because I enjoyed 3 10-ounce glasses of V8 every day; biked and eliminated breads/pastas & sweets from my diet, I lost 2.5 belt notches & 12 pounds. I keep looking for those 12 pounds (wherever I go), but just can't find them. If I can do it, so can others and refreshingly so with V8 Vegetable Juice! This is wonderful news for 2011! ASK's Faux Fur Fridays begins Today!

Chicago, IL USA:

Dressing up in your best Faux Fur is the gist of this Haute Couture Holidate that I began in October of 2008 when I placed as one of the top 20 winners of the Chicago Portion of She's Got The Look. Stylist Robert Verdi went gaga over my Leopard Street Coat and even tried it on, on-air. Getting that kind of a reaction was indeed hilarious. That helped spur the creation of this Event plus the fact that Faux Fur saves a creature's precious life; makes a person look especially sexy and makes a fashionable, pop-style statement about who you are.
