One eBook down. Many more to go...
I hate to see April leave. But April Showers bring May Flowers. Those were the flowers that bloomed too early in Chicagoland, USA – in March of this year instead and now they have all wilted. And, where was I while all this Natural Phenomena was happening? Inside. Hard @ work on my eBook and it is now 95% done. Yes, April’s been a great Month. Short by most standards as I could certainly use the extra Day, but lots got accomplished. It’s good to have looming self-imposed Deadlines as those keep you pinpointed to the task @ hand.
Plus, I keep remembering those Writing FB sites (as The Writers Store owned by Jesse Douma & Debra Eckerling) that ask about YOUR WEEKLY GOALS. It’s not that they are hounding you or are just plain nosey.
GOALS really do work. Those kept me on track also. Not that I had time to literally write them down, but they were in the back of my mind.
Probably the coolest Thing that happened tho was that I am in contact with Mr. William Hastert – all becuz of Facebook here – he is/was my 7TH Grade English Teacher ‘back in the Day during the 1900s - that fueled this book initially. When teachers were teachers and they worked hard for us, selflessly as they were. This was way-back in 1964! And, yesterday he sent my Class Pix from Homeroom to me for 'da book.' Class of 70. Boy, did I look like a Geek. Luckily, he had written out the names of all the kids – my classmates – otherwise, I may not have even known myself! This Insertion will add such Charm and take it to another entirely different level. Thank you, Mr. Hastert for caring - like you did all the way 'back then.'
New Month – New Goals. And an extra Day. Might as well get a head-start!
Cheers,

ASK introduces 84 New Terms into Pop(ular) Culture. Eat your Heart out, Saturday Night Live!
WANTED: DEAD OR ALIVE: For those who still watch TV, 30 Rock goes live tonight. All week long Alec Baldin & Tina Fey (ie: JACK & LIZ) have been in this TV commercial where Alec states they are getting LIVER…a new term that he’s introducing. Now reading IT and saying it are 2 different things, Folks. That’s not LIVER – as in chopped or served with onions on a saltine, but LIVER as in Livelier. As in LY-ver. Now, we got it. Fans will love this Show as it’s only the 2ND 1 they’ve done. However, via this Report and Literary Update, they have nothing over my Vocabulary. I just finished the Final Review for my Copyright Infringement Book & I will be introducing 84 New Terms to Pop (Popular) Culture within a matter of a month. That’s 11 pages and over 4050 words to describe those nouveau terms. Now that’s something LIVELY for every Day of the Week, not just on Saturday Night…

ASK on 'booking' Copyright Infringement - Another Day - Another Chapter.
ASK ON LITERARY PROGRESS: Or as I call it in the TRADE AOLP – not to be misconstrued with ALPO which is the dog food. This is what I call: Thrilling! Spelled out as: T-H-R-I-L-L-I-N-G! Another Chapter is done. This was the 1 about the 10 Purposes as 2 Y I’m writing this Book on Copyright Infringement since I don’t have a legal shingle (yet). 6 Pages. 2,391 Words. And to think that it started with only 1 word & that was: Purposes. Then, I had to add to that which kind of ‘just happened’ over the Course of the Writing. Nice to have a Purpose…even 10 of them. The more Purposes the merrier. Good Enuf. Next Purpose: Lunch: Here I come! Oh, BTW: If U care to get your DOG a treat (since so many of U & me are DOG LOVERS), here’s Alpo’s Website: http://www.alpo.com/

All in A Week’s Work. Writing Out The Storm: ASK Style.
All in A Week’s Work. Writing Out The Storm: ASK Style.
So what was I doing a week ago? No one knows. If I had not written it down, it could very likely been forgotten. I was writing. That evidently is all I do. But keeping mathified records as I do, in order to check back and see if there Progress, I’m happy to say THERE WAS!
Back on April 18TH @ 11:54 AM, I had 1587 Words written on this Topic – of Copyright Infringement. Working along as the Days did get longer (yet not necessarily warmer) as we Chicagoans live in a city that has 2 seasons now: Winter (altho we had an extremely mild Winter this year) and Pothole Season, I just kept @ it & worked my way up to 2,601 Words. This equates to creating 1014 more Words in a Week or 144.85 every Day (including Sundays, the designated DoR: Day of Rest, but that never materialized.
According to my System, that turns out to be an additional 2.92 written pages (since about 347 Words are a standard page via my own design of Margins). This is Progress. Now as it’s almost time for supper – that segment is done & time to celebrate.
I’m sure there are a few other Writers ‘out there’ who can attest: U got 2 love seeing the #s stack up…and those little green, red and blue squiggly lines bite the dust.

ASK's Record Progress: How many Words makes for a Book?
ASK’s VOCABULARY RECO FOR EARTH DAY 2012:
Overheard on TV the other Evening. 30 Rock now tells us that NEW WORDS are all the Rage. That’s good to know. As there are 73 New Terms that I have personally created for my 4TH coming eBook. It totally amazes me what U can do with only 26 Letters in the English Alphabet. Oh, how I wish there were more (of them)! The FUN part is coming up with a Definition that sounds serviceable – the easy Part is that the Words just seem to materialize from out of the blue…or whatever Colored Room I happen to be in. I’m sure I’d have a few more of these new and improved Terms If We did have a few more letters in the Alphabet. I wonder what I can or should do about that! Any ideas? All in the course of a writer’s day - on my way to what I call, becoming: ‘Famous for being inFamous.’

On the Inside of Literature. A Question Worth ASK-ing...
ASK/Chicago: Needs a Favor. As you know I’m writing a book on Copyright Infringement on how it affects the ARTIST/Writer living in Contemporary Times. What I now need (as I am putting the finishing touches on the eBook) is to know WHO are the leading People in Literature? I don’t mean the President(s) of the top book publishers. There’s got to be a very elite Group – of which I would not even know OF their exact titles who work (ON THE INSIDE OF LITERATURE) at the universities (Yale – Harvard, etc.) that deal with the Intricacies of what is the Hot Issues of Literature in this Day & Age. They may be the organizers of the leading book fairs thruout the world. I am not sure at all. But I’m guessing such a group exists only because we SURVIVE on literature and so many of us make a living from it. I know I’m not being too specific, but if any of you have leads, names, etc. I’d really appreciate U FB-ing them to me for further research. Thank you all!

ASK on Keeping as GREEN as U can...On The Eve of Earth Day: 2012.
Let ME tell YOU in exactly 378 Words: Grandpaw, Srul Koopersmith who came from the OLD - OLD - OLD Country of Germany in the early 1900s was a Scrapman - picking up enuf Junk and collecting enuf of it to make us Millionaires. Till the 70s when the family began dying out; parents got divorced and greed set in.
However, I inherited his his G-Gene - Green Gene - by biking every Day no matter what the Weather is like here in the Windy City (year round at that) and I eat a healthy diet. I’m also one of the Chicago Promoters of the Green Fest that began in northern California so I am constantly reaching out to others who have this healthier mindset.
What really excites me tho is that I also am in the mists of writing a 7 part book/movie called:
SKiN: Sacred Kinship in Nature ™
How 10 Beloved Plush Toys Redefine Race ©2009
That I began in January of 2009. One of its earliest Scripts beat out 3164 others Scripts in Mark Andrushko’s Scriptapalooza Intl Screenplay Competition. I can ‘speak’ in perfect TOYESE ™ as I call their LANGUAGE.
And altho 1 of the 3 leading Topics is HOW to eliminate Racism via the EYES of 10 adorable PLUSH TOYS (as been collecting them for the last 59 years since birth) – they all discuss betwixt and between themselves - (becuz they are CREATURES OF THE WILD, you now) how the Environment is our only Home and how Humans must care for it better and take more pride in it.
I pretty much am about as ‘green’ as you can get & proudfully so! Every Day is Earth Day to me. Thanks for listening, DreamWorks Animation – as Mayor Daley of Chicago once told me while he MET my Green Mascot, GORF, THE FROG 1 of the Characters of SKiN: Sacred Kinship in Nature™ while we were attending the same Event, he stated: “Together we can make a difference.’ And I believe that to be ‘the Trick.’ It is nice and reassuring to know We can all jump in (to the POND OF LIFE) and help out!

ASK ON THE HOW: Hazards Of Writing: April 20, 2012
ASK ON THE HOW Hazards Of Writing – a Profession most of us have to some degree. Don’t yea just HATE it when UR writing &; U find that U have 2 hyphenate something? That’s MONEY taken out of the writer’s pocket. Especially so, 4 the bulk of us who get paid by word (or is that paid-by-word?). Probably ‘The Latter.’ This is a Torment of mine. It’s like taking Candy out of Baby Adrienne’s hand. What could possibly be worse?

The Passing of Dick Clark. Tell me it ain't so!
ASK's RECO ON TOLERANCE GROUPS: With the sad passing of DICK CLARK, there is alot of attn now on how he got Kids together to dance and sing when Civil Rights in the 60s was brewing, no matter what race they are/were via 30 years of American Bandstand. This might be a nice and opportune time as well as segue to address that Topic - via all the bloggers staffers, etc. that value Tolerance and living in a peaceful Environment. After all, it's better KIDS keep creative than be lured out onto the streets where anything can and does happen. Just a general thought there - timely as it is.

Have you hugged a Hero today?
ASK’s COMMENTARY ON HEROICS:
What I particularly liked (as I think of the major news stories this week) was that it was a WEEK OF HEROES. If you’ll recall, there was the Mayor who came home; only to race into a burning building next door to save one of this neighbors. There was the Gal in Northern IL who rushed into a burning stable to save (reports said) 7 horses from dying a horrific death, crawling thru smoke as the fire raged. And then, who could not forget the 2 Boys in Oregon (I believe) who pulled an entire school bus over to the side of the road after the driver had suffered a heart attack. Then, of course, there are The Heroes ‘out there’ like firemen and good cops who are there in the shadows making sure we get thru (yet)another day. It seemed like this WEEK had MORE Heroes than most. If he were around, I wonder what Mike Wallace would say about that – lots, I’m sure.

Juggling Words: All in a Day's Work. How to write an eBook in 3 Months.
ASK ON WRITING:
So I jiggled and juggled around: 1602, then 4565 and then 898 words today
in my Quest in making the eBook the best it can be. Doing the Math, that’s 7065 in about 9 hours or: 785 words per hour or: 13.083 every minute. That’s all I need to know there. IF I don’t get distracted by Facebook here, lots can get done. It’s easy enuf. U can unplug your phone, but the curiosity factor here on Facebook is just too great. And, the top 2 papers/chapters/segments are as complete as can be. I added a total of 287 words which means a lot to writer-at-large. That’s about a page worth of paper. In eFormatting it might be more. We’ll soon see.

The Court of Public Opinion: Books, Studies & Fairy Tales.
ASK’s LITERARY COMMENTARY: Having a Father in Politics (Mayor as he was) from the time I was 8 for the next 16 years, I noticed there was a Court of Public Opinion, but I didn’t know it had a distinct Name equated to it till this year with Politics, Racism and Crime/vs. Justice being the lead Stories in the News. Not that they weren’t before. Not that it wasn’t before. I just happened to take more of a Notice that seemed to be playing out moreso, esp. so with all the Social Networks we’re plugged into. Being curious as to how it affects a Writer and a Writer’s good Name against ‘The Bad Guys’, I decided to do a Case Study – my own - and came up with a 150+ page book – an eBook that will be published soon, hopefully by mid-May. And that’s just the Start. After all, it’s an interesting Topic, Book or no Book, Valued Opinions are as selective as well as over-powering as they can be.

ASK's Countdown To 60: April 9 Check-In, eBook-Style, of course.
ASK’s COUNTDOWN TO 60: It’s amazing the past Month has passed us by so quickly. Now, as I approach my 60TH Birthday in 4 more Months from Today on August 9th of 2012, I’m quickening The Process to try to get something done. Naw, not the Housework from 1968, important things. As that eBook I’ve been working non-stop on – all thru the last Set of Weekend Holidays, but it’s definitely coming to light and I can almost see the light @ the end of the Tunnel. Stats (even if it’s NOT Birthday Time to count all those gray hair; pounds and wrinkles) seem to have some bearing on whatever WE Humans do and don’t do. So I DID (the Math as they say) – and I did get something done, that looks like there are now currently:
27,647 Words counting the Footnotes;
26,448 Words without the Footnotes;
If all these Words that fall on 77 pages were Tweeted there’d be:
118.84285714285714 Tweets = from: 166,338 = Characters with Spaces
and/or
993.7285714285714 Tweet – from: 139,122 – Characters without Spaces
That’s the major chapter and as we writers and authors know, when the BIG ONE is done, that’s truly a relief. That’s enough to do for 1 Day…closer to The Countdown to 60.

Month #2 of: 3L: Lies, Liberty & Literature ©2012 - One Holidate U can't afford to miss!
ASK’s LITERARY SUGGESTION & PLUG: Once again, it’s 3L: Lies, Liberty & Literature ©2012 – 1 of my 31 Literary Holidates as featured in my 4TH coming eBook on Copyright Infringement. Last Month on March 6TH, I unveiled that Holidate if you will recall.
NOW: With 1 of the leading BuzzWords is:
STRONGHOLD: Noun.
Definition: The new Buzzword of Writers, Authors & all Creatifs. STRONGHOLD is the Mindset to now possess in order to protect and safeguard your Words & Works from all Criminal Activity against Literature and The Destruction of THE ARTS. It is the STRONG HOLD that you affix to your Projects that will take you onward to reach The Dreams you’ve set and surprisingly many more that are presently hidden until ‘The Time’ is right.
To reiterate, the 6TH of each Month allows you to do just that. Granted, it’s a big Holidate & Party Weekend with Passover/Pesach – Good Friday & Easter on the Horizon, it only takes 30 Minutes (possibly less) to protect your Works online at the local Registrar of Copyright Office at:
https://eco.copyright.gov/eService_enu/start.swe
You will be so happy and relieved you did…

4 X 3 = 12: When an Eventologist goes Mathematic by ASK: America's Premier Eventolgist / Chicago, IL
4 X 3 = 12 & such is the Date of April being the 4th Month; it's the 3rd Day (altho I don't know where the last 2 went to) and multiplied together, you get 12 which signifies the 12TH year of this new Millennium & Century. So it goes when you make the trade-off of Math for Dates & Days. Not that this has any bearance on the winning lottery tickets of last Friday, but U might think it would since tonight the MegaMillion Game is back to $12 million - not much to live on if UR a high maintenance player in this game called life!

A Day in the Life of ASK's First eBOOK: DateLine: April 2, 2012
ASK's LITERARY MILESTONE: Now this is the way to start out the new Month (even if it is a shortIer) one. I'm meeting with my eBook Formatters tomoro afternoon to iron out the logistics of my latest Literary Project. Extremely excited because after it's up and happening, no telling what may happen...it's all part of the Process of writing (and drafting and rewriting and proofing and skimming and researching). Sometimes, I think there are easier jobs than this, but heck, I can't drag myself away from a vacant Screen...and this is one of the many. Stay tuned & attuned.
