Having a PET in One’s Later LiFE is far richer than when growing up & learning how to care for another Creature/Being. We know what went wrong; We can avoid The Perils + Pitfalls that We were unaware about 40 years earlier. 

A CAT doesn’t need to be walked although I encourage you to do so. IF you have a fenced-in Yard (We live-off a Nature Preserve enclosed where DOGS are not allowed Entry), make that Are(n)a your Romping Grounds. In our own PURRTiCULAR Case, CALi (My CALiCO) & I jaunt down 6 Floors of 84 Steps between 3-5 Times a Day; through The Lobby & out Our Secret Back Door.  Weather permitting, of course. A Human is more prone not to let their PET down.  As We age, each Decade takes its Toll on HUMANS physically, mentally and spiritually.  

A PET’s Health is as fragile as ours.  For them to be loved, well-fed and knowing they can keep their ‘WiLD in-Tact’ is a Bond that must be enforced for PETHOOD to thrive in The 21ST Century.  A CAT or DOG is Family. A CAT or DOG is the Best RX any Doctor or Veterinarian could order.  For the most Part, more and more People are living longer. Enrich those Years with a CAT OR DOG @ your Side.

THE EXACT ISSUE:   How the Evolution of an ASKian HOLIDATE transpires:

In June of 1994, I introduced 1 of my top 3 HOLIDATES called National Splurge Day ©1994 written up with a Formula that it is slated for exactly 64 Days or 2 Months & 3 Days after Tax Day.  This Date allows People to have received their Refund (an extra Bit of Spending Money); go out; have some Fun spending it (or a portion).  After all, it’s nearly Summer Time (coming in on the 21ST of June) and We yearn to be in a relaxed and happy State of Mind by generally kicking-back. After the September 11 2001 Terrorist Attack National Splurge Day ©1994 was used to kickstart The Economy since Spending had stopped for many not knowing what the Future would hold.

As of 2019, 1994 was 25 years ago. 

So much has changed.  Baby Boomers (as myself) are now Seniors (those 55 and older are considered Senior Citizens according to AARP); with many on fixed incomes.  Prices have continuously gone up; yet Expenses have not decreased making it exceedingly difficult to decide if a Person is going to eat or buy their medication.

Our Political Candidates and System is looked upon as being “Greedy in Nature.”  Our Excessive Mindset continues to grow with Student College Debt and so many Adults are in debt that they are committing Suicide seeing NO OTHER WAY OUT.  Furthermore, not only are those Individuals over 50 not able to splurge as excessively as they once did in The Early Days of National Splurge Day ©1994 (when I methodically introduced this HOLiDATE), but Two Eye-Opening Demographics that emerged that tear at my Heart are:

the 68,000,000 Refugees who are displaced across our Planet;

The CATS & DOGS who are in Shelters who ‘only need a Home & someone to love them – a Family.’ Adoption is Key in the Lives of these precious Creatures who deserve a Good Life.

Both the Refugees and PETS are very frail, fragile and forgotten.  This is not how Civilization is to be.

I began realizing that these Two (2) Demographics needed “Deep Help “and there was no better Way to do this than with The Logistics of my National Splurge Day ©1994 that ‘basically’ – within all the Papers (Documents & Blogs) I have penned about The Holidate for 25 years now and The Massive Amount of Press  Coverage and Notoriety I have received has become ‘Mainstream’ as one of The Holidates (a Term I created  to cover my Portion of Holidays that I self-create and promote as the Person who has accrued the 7 above Titles). 

A SHIFT IN VISION:
On April 5, 2017, Kenny Malone of NPR’s Planet Money flew from New York City to Chicago to interview me.  Needless to say, I was quite honored.  He spent the entire Day with me delving as to why I am so inspired, driven and passionate about Eventology & 1 of its major Off-Spring: National Splurge Day ©1994 to provide People with an Outlet that will brighten their Day.  His 19 Minute interview is a Masterpiece in Construction and Mr. Malone operates as a seasoned, professional Interviewer should, meticulously combing through his Interviewee’s Life, as if he were an Attorney in Court.  He did not miss a Beat and his in-depth Questions made me think hard about ‘Things’ that were far below ‘The Surface.’ 

Several Days after his Visit I wrote my First of many Blogs & Documents in which I openly stated that The Gist, Root & Core of National Splurge Day ©1994 had run its Course.  As its Creator, I am seeing that its Evolution is now to take a different Stance which is:

SPLURGE on to Others as you would want others to SPLURGE on to you.”

A Take-Off of ‘The Golden Rule,’ my Thinking was that once a Person receives their Tax Return or merely has saved his/her money for National Splurge Day Activities, instead  of  spending it ‘wildly or frivolously,’ take those Funds (whether it’s $5 earmarked  for a Beverage at Starbucks or $288,000 for a Lamborghini or $1,000 for a new Outfit from a fashionable Boutique and help out a Refugee or abandoned Stray or Shelter Animal. 

I felt very hopeful that with The Amount of Time, Effort & new Foresight into how so many People were living, this new Ideology stemming from 2017 would catch on and National Splurge Day ©1994 would be embraced as The Goodwill Holidate it now is; no longer being in The Entertainment/Recreational ~ FUN Category.  There was no End to The Amount of Writing and Mail I sent out telling of its new and improved Stance & Formula.

YET, my new Message was totally ignored and these Journalists spun their own Stories and  are destroying the LEGACY I have taken nearly half of my Life to build.  

In 2017, for National Splurge Day’s 23RD Year Celebration on Sunday June 18, no one (Media or Individuals) took heed of its new ByLaws, but continued to SPLURGE incessantly without looking at its Repercussions.

In 2018, for National Splurge Day’s 24TH Year Celebration on Monday, June 18, no one (Media or Individuals) took heed of its new ByLaws yet masses of people continued to flounder and fall into heavier debt.

In 2019, for National Splurge Day’s 25TH Silver Anniversary on Tuesday, June 18, no one (Media or Individuals) took heed of its new ByLaws that totally destroyed the ESSENCE of its New Goals in order to relieve the PAIN of those in dire Need: The Refugees and Animals who need to be adopted.

No Rationale or Reason exists for these Reporter’s/Anchor’s Lack of picking up a Phone & doing an Interview.  At The End of each Day We all have 3 extra Hours in which to work because We are all now working in High Tech whereby so much more Progress is and can be made every Day. 

This incredibly multi-tiered lawsuit sets a precedence in the Lively Arts and will most likely scare these Culprits to death.  They deserve to lose their Job; they deserve to be reprimanded; they do not deserve to have The Position they have working in spreading News that they did not even research.  They are not doing their Job.  Rhesus Monkeys can do much better than they can.
