Battle of the Chocolate Titans: Godiva vs. Ghiradelli. ASK: Adrienne Sioux Koopersmith (ASK), The Queen of Splurge (National Splurge Day©1994) weighs in on the Creamy & Nutty Details.

Saturday, September 13, 2014. #NationalSplurgeDay’s #TheDailySplurge #85 sees the Battle between GHIRADELLI & GODIVA that was brought to the Forefront and Attention of:

ASK: ADRiENNE SiOUX KOOPERSMiTH

The Queen of Splurge’ and Creator/Founder/Originator of:

NATIONAL SPLURGE DAY ©1994
&
YOTS: Year Of The Splurges ©2010

Day when she flipped on the TV Set on Saturday Morning to CBS: This Morning and heard a Segment on Chocolatier, GODIVA.  GODIVA is now introducing a New Line of Candy & Confectionery so everyone can INDULGE every Day which is the Motto she coined since the INCEPTION OF NATIONAL SPLURGE DAY (NSD) in 1994, over 20 years ago.  NSD went viral when she appeared in Fast Company Magazine’s June, 2010 most popular Issue, whose Theme was:  The 100 Most Creative People in Business.

JOURNALISTIC QUESTIONS NOW ARISE THAT WILL ONLY KEEP THIS TOPIC & THESE COMPANIES IN THE LIMELIGHT:

Will this add to the Obesity Crisis that has invaded the World?
OR
Will People actively seek out their Treat above all their Competitors?

Time will tell.

As #TheQueenOfSplurge and one of the main Bloggers of the Candy Expo in the early 2000s, you know ASK will have something SWEET to say about this Movement.

BESIDES THE FACT THAT: SPLURGING is a Lifestyle; an Activity & Passion that Homo Sapien Sapiens have participated in since Mankind realized they could paint Pictures on their Limestone Walls and put Chocolate Drinks in their Limestone Refrigerators before going out for ‘The Hunt.’ And, it may be the Hunt itself & the Prize We give ourselves that makes that Difference as tasty as those Indulgences can be.

After all, when THE URGE TO SPLURGE arises, it’s time to ask: ASK.

ASK/Chicago:  Undoubtedly, my favorite Chicago Organization that gives City Kids the Golden Opportunity to be  achieve – be inspired and become creative in their own capacities. As I reflect back on my life-to-date, had it not been for my Kindergarten Teacher, Miss Fritz who taught my Father, me, my younger Brother & Sister everything we had ‘to know,’ I would not be as productive and skilled as I am Today.  This Group goes that extra Mile for Kids who may not be as fortunate as we were (in the late 1950s & 60s) when Life was entirely different for Children growing up.  Like I always say and it does sound extremely redundant for a  Professional Writer/Promoter who should use different Words to express herself, but:

The Daily Splurge: Paying $1,000,000 for a Parking Space! You've got to be out of your frigging mind. When a Reality Check is sorely needed.

The Daily Splurge

Part & Parcel of:
ASK: ADRiENNE SiOUX KOOPERSMiTH's
National Splurge Day
now in its 20TH Year.

Contact:  ASK: 'America's Premier Eventologist' at:

Wednesday, September 10, 2014. #NationalSplurgeDay’s #TheDailySplurge #82 was something I heard on CBS This Morning with Charles Rose, Gayle King & Nora O’Donnell reporting LIVE from New York City where Episodes like these just happen too often.   They reported that:

A Parking Space is now for Sale for One Million Dollars.  That’s $1,000,000.00.

Evidently, this is a gigantic SPLURGE for Someone who is ultra and über-wealthy enough to afford that Commodity; however, if a Person can afford a Home that has a ONE MILLION DOLLAR Parking Space (I hope it’s inside, heated and comes with its own Primo Coffee & Danish each Morning for the Trip in to Work), that House is not a Home, it officially qualifies as being a Mansion that has got to be over $25,000,000 to do that Parking Space Justice.

In a Case like this, there is no absolute Justice, since 99% of us cannot afford that SPLURGE.  However, for those of us who like to dream, if I (as the #QUEENOFSPLURGE were in that Position to buy a Parking Space (for my Luxury Vehicle or Liner), I would prefer taking that Million Dollars and give it to the Top 1000 Unfortunates I know.

I have a Feeling I would even do that if I were able to purchase a Parking Space for Half a Million Dollars.  Some Things (as Parking Spaces) are just not worth a lot of Money.  I call that the Warren Buffett Effect.  If you don’t believe me.  Ask Mother Nature. Originally, until Man arrived, she had no Price Tags on any of her Natural Wonders.  But that’s another Blog’s Worth all found in my 7 Part Book & Movie Scripts called:

SKiN: SACRED KINSHIP iN NATURE ™

HOW 10 BELOVED PLUSH TOYS REDEFINE RACE ©2009

That:

Eliminates Racism;

Dispels the Mixed Signals and Ironies we receive every Day; and

Gets to the Heart of what really matters.

RETURNING TO THE PARKING LOT ISSUE:

Starving Artists are plentiful in our World.

Orphans are plentiful.

Domestic Violence Victims are plentiful.

There are PLENTY OF WAYS to give to worthy Causes that amount to more than a Slab of cold Concrete in a Big City High-Rise.

And for those of you in The Media, you can quote me on that one:

Per: ASK: Adrienne Sioux Koopersmith

America’s Premier Eventologist’

Chicago – IL USA

who claims:

“There are PLENTY OF WAYS to give to worthy Causes

that amount to more than a Slab of cold Concrete in a Big City High-Rise.”

$1,000 would help them out much more than a Space that rates as too mind-boggling.

Now, at this point in this Text and Context of The Daily Splurge for those of you who are following along (and I so appreciate that Kind Gesture), We go over to google and type in:

What will $1,000,000 buy in 2014?

Read down the Answers.  Weed out the ones that are OF INTEREST to you and yours and proceed from there – the next Time you have a MILLION DOLLARS to
SPLURGE with.

My Favorite came from:  James Twining CFP® Bellingham, WA

http://www.nerdwallet.com/finance/question/i-am-54-and-have-inherited-1-000-000-how-many-years-can-this-sum-last-me-2666

Mr. Twining stated:  “Most who inherit a large lump sum think they are rich.  They aren't.  $1 million is not enough to retire successfully for most people.”

However, ONE MILLION DOLLARS can make a hugely significant Difference to those who are frugal enough to s-t-r-e-t-c-h it out.  And, if you so choose to SPLURGE at a Discount Center – Dollar Store – or Resale Shop, you’ll get much MORE of a BANG than if you invest in a MILLION DOLLAR Parking Space as your Auto devalues in Price and Value.
