Chicago, IL USA:
One of the great things about writing is that the writer gets the opportunity to research. That's what I was doing a few minutes ago when I stumbled upon the fact that 1 of my favorite writers of all time - timeless as he was, ROD SERLING - known for The Twilight Zone and many other award-winning productions has a very important date coming up.
On Monday, June 28, 2010, it will be 35 years that Mr. Serling passed away. Years that passed away quicker than the commercials between his scenes.
I've often thought of him throughout the years and WHAT ELSE could have been written if he had only been given an extra 50 years to live, having died in his prime at age 50. What he left can never be reproduced as there was only one ROD SERLING.
As 'America's Premier Eventologist' the date of JUNE 28, 2010 (and that weekend) should be used to honor Mr. Serling across the world -- and continue to serve as inspiration to those of us who love to write.
