Chicago, IL USA:
Numbers (as the 5-7-9 Theme above) is as interesting as Language itself. We tend to gravitate more towards one than the other while growing up. Mine, of course, was towards Language when I was in Grade School and 'The Basics' were being taught. I soon found that Language is one of themost fascinating and captivating Subjects I know. Letters and Words have always intrigued me. Even the Little Ones like IF to the BIG, l-o-n-g (too numerous to name) plus ones 'new on the Scene' to old Latin Terms that name every Creature (with a scientific bend or bent) on The Planet. How those Scholars ever did this unbeknownst to me, considering no Computers were there (to make their job easier) in which to record and preserve those Names. If there were, there'd be a hey-day with mis-spellings due to spell check that would need to be corrected. To me, they just look so beautifully created - from somebody's imagination.
Then, you have Creatures that have for so l-o-n-g been written about and continue to be on the Top Ten Lists for Movies and Books. 'Creatures' usually denote every Life Form 'outside of' Humans (homo sapiens) - Mankind.
Creature Comforts (as a term), however, denote the Comforts that Humans like, prefer and subsequently need to make their Lives 'the best' and for 'the Better.' Those are for Humans who like the added Accessories of Life, not the rhinestone studded collar for Fido or the extra stuffed Toss-Toys that Fido plays with in the backyard. They have done without these. Their daily agenda (if in the wild) doesn't really call for these Markings of Humanity.
TO TOP OFF THE DISCUSSION: Then, is it any wonder that Animal Terms have infiltrated our Language with terms as:
Bee Hive (Hair-do's)
Turtleneck Sweaters
and others...
that have found, meandered and sifted their Way into the Dialog and Conversations held by the 10 Toys - my Characters here - as they journey through the Pages of SKiN.
For still more SKiNsights (SKiN + Insights = SKiNsights) into this Writing, please check back tomorrow, that also coincides with the 19TH Celebration of FAUX FUR FRIDAYS, the Starting Point of this Project.
