Koopersmith's Faux Fur Friday #16. Unveiling the FAUX FUR BIKE.

Chicago, IL USA: The First Sign of Spring is putting your winter clothes away. Faux Fur has a tendency to be MORE of a winter style in nature but with cottons, silks and polyesters who are into synthetics, the stripes and lines of original FAUX-ing can be well-worn into the summer and autumn months of the year.

Furthermore, for those into Sport-like Projects, there's no time like the Present to begin. My select project is to redesign 1 of my bikes. And, the chosen pattern is FAUX FUR. The colors have been chosen; the paints and brushes bought and later today, with a few splashes of primer, the FIRST FAUX FUR BIKE will be wheeling its way onto the Streets of Chicago for the

16TH FAUX FUR FRIDAY of 2009.

Bikes have come a long way the last century, but to date, it's nice to have a BIKE that matches your Outfits. That one will fit mine to the 'T.'

BIKING USA: Koopersmith hits the 1800 Mark. Potholes and Bikes

Chicago, IL USA: At long last, I've hit 1800 miles since May 29, 2008 on my Bike. Winter 2009 in Chicago was not only bad for year-round biking enthusiasts as myself in trying to out-number the miles biked the month previously, but the Potholes in Chicago have never been worse. Coupled to this, there are some Streets that are literal Collision Courses (and Curses) where 8, 10 or 12 potholes will be seen as a SEAM running up and down the streets. One on the corner of Greenview and Rosemont can fit a tribe of small baby elephants. Not only is this NOT do-able for Cyclists, but plenty of cars have been caught -- have fallen into these holes of no return, as the one I photographed on Clark & Wilson a week previously. This is an additional expense Chicagoans do not need, coupled with a sales tax that is the highest in the nation and Olympic Games that will only dessimate the city (in 2016 if Chicago wins the Bid).

If I had a dollar for every Pothole I slowly biked near, the US would not be in such dire straits.

However, with Spring fully in charge now, the Biking Business is a buzz.

On Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at approximately 5:10 PM at Clark & Berwyn, 1800 miles were a chieved. This Stat means I bike (with the weather breaking) and even WITH Potholes galore, about 8-10 miles a day. The more the better. After all, Biking eliminates Car Driving which is a major factor in Global Warming and/or the fact that t he Climateis definitely undergoing a severe change that affects h ow we live each and every Day. Biking is cheaper and healthier and you can quote me on that one. And, at 56 years and 8 Months old today, it's the best exercise any Person can do.

Sunday, 4-5-9 OR 4 + 5 = 9

Chicago, IL USA:

For those into Numerology, there's a simple formula those gamblin types play if a Lottery Game is being held on that day and date. Therefore, for the winning 3 numbers are:

4,5,9

a stellar phenomena that will not happen ever again in this Century.

With that said, for those interested in Ecology so that our Grandchildren do see the DAWN OF A NEW DAY, tonight on PBS at 7 PM CST, a documentary on FROGS will be aired. Not many people realize that the Amphibious FROG is 217,000,000 years old meaning he outlived the Extinction of the Mighty Dinosaur. Many think he did that by holding out in Miami Bogs that were quite huge at the time. No matter how funny that may be, it can be ascertained that FROGS were smart enough to survive such a massive extinction. However, the sad facts for today show that 68 Frog Species is now extinct and/or on the Endangered Species List - dying in Our Generation, which is not a humane legacy to have.

Therefore, instead of being behind the lines, take an active role in Earth Day that falls within the Month of April and think Green. It's alot easier to be green these days than ever before and not only are you saving a Species that is near and dear to us, but the Planet, our only Home.

April 4, 2009 - 3 Months till Independence Day. Do you know where your Firecrackers are?

Chicago, IL USA:

For all the procrastinators out there, there is no better time than now to get your act together and plan for the summer. That means bikini weather, getting slim and trim; firming up and planning for all the summer activities that will be happening across the World. There's many thing you can do in 90 days...besides working, getting stressed out and worrying about problems that will still be with us...after a laid-back summer...the last one before We reach the End of the first Decade of the New Millennium.

Madonna & Oprah on the Issue of Adoption Rites.

The following was sent to Chicago Personality, Oprah Winfrey on:

Friday, April 3, 2009 - 1:37 PM CST

regarding an Issue making News today.

"Is there anything that Oprah can do to help Madonna with her Adoption Problems in Malawi? Both women are generous and have begun schools on the Continent of Africa so there is a 'mutual interest'. Governments in third world countries seem to forget that their FUTURE depends on their Children and by not allowing a VIA: Via Important Adoption to take place, it is not securing the Future for a new, safer and more humane society. Perhaps if enough people 'wrote' on behalf of this Issue, the judge in Malawi would change her mind. Let's hope so."

ASK's 14TH Faux Fur Friday...

Chicago, IL USA: ASK's 14TH Faux Fur Friday...starts off the Month of April on a cold, blistery and windy side; therefore, those who wish to keep wearing their Faux Fur Coats, Jackets, Boot and Head Gear can continue to do so...even though Easter is just a few Days away. This also saves on the dry cleaning bill - for the TIME being.

The latest for FAUX FUR FRIDAYS this year?

Of course, decorate your Easter Eggs in Leopard and Wild Animal Prints...the camouflage should conceal them so well, not even a chef skilled in omelettes would be able to find them. Faux Fur Easter Eggs are a recipe for fun and a way to get back to Nature and the Green Movement as April is Earth Month.

Until next Friday...

The Significance of April Phool's Day....2009 via 'America's Premier Eventologist.'

Chicago, IL USA:

I am often asked about other Events that make 'The Calendar' as to IF they are significant and what impact they have on Culture, Pop(ular) Culture and the General Community-at-large. There are many, of course, that are only based on Commerciality, which is at odds with today's living and lifestyles when so many Folks and Families are now lacking so much, and the Bare Necessities of having a Pleasant Day.

However, every once in a while, an Event happens that is just plain pure FUN and

APRIL FOOL's DAY

does just that. As the Fourth Month begins according to the Calendar we find that it is now the time to be fooled again.

With a grim economy lurking around the World, this Date is more important than ever as it serves to lighten up the Scenery, even if for just a few moments.

Therefore, get yoru favorite Joke Book out, if you're not a true comedian and fool someone.

Considering Tax Day (in America) is just two weeks away...having THE EDGE and The Cobwebs from a long, harsh winter removed (even momentarily) is worth its weight in gold...Fool's Gold, of course!
