When Lowell speaks, people listen: December 27, 2009 2-4 PM

Chicago, IL USA: This eMail just arrived at ASK Global Communications and is an event - a MUST-GO TO...in order to save the Art World and the Species (from itself).
For those who want to interview Mr. Thompson on his Viewpoints, contact him directly at:

lowellt(at)hotmail(dot)com

Many of you know Lowell as The Artist - indeed Chicago's Top Mover & Shaker who drew the most incredible profile of President Barack Obama about 18 months ago that was 'THE HIT'of the January 2009 Inauguration as he sold limited edition copies of the Portrait in Washington, DC. It later appeared in numerous art shows across Chicagoland during 2009.

Said painting is not yet found in the Oval Room behind our President's head (when he takes care of the country's problems), but fans of Lowell are hoping it will be appearing there shortly in 2010. 2010 undoubtedly will be:

THE YEAR OF LOWELL THOMPSON

The following is the latest News Release on Lowell's Activities: Mark your calendar for Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009. I'll be there...would not miss it!

Lowell Thompson, well known Chicago recovering ad man, artist, writer, blogger, blah, blah, blah, etc., etc., etc., will lead a discussion on the big, 800 ton, "black" and "white" gorilla in the art room, Race & Art.

Thompson was one of the first and few AfrAmericans creating ads in the big-time ad agencies in the late 60s, 70s, & 80s. Some say he was blacklisted in the 90s because of his fight to open the adbiz up to all talent. Since then he has reinvented himself as an artist, writer and Creative Catalyst, using his visual and verbal expertise to, when not saving the world, rescue the Chicago creative community (from itself).

Art. In Black. Or White.
Lowell Thompson Talks.
The Op Shop.
1613 E. 55th Street.
2pm - 4pm
Sunday, December 27, 2009

Once again you've brought me (and Chicagoland)news of an event that I (we) would not have learned of otherwise but would hate to miss. But, after all, you are THE "Eventologist"

Ms. Koopersmith,

Where do you find such interesting events around Chicago? You're GREAT!

WOW! I've heard him speak before but would never have known about this end-of-year gig without your blog. I can't wait to go on the 27th.Thanks, Adrienne.

How do you learn about this stuff? Is there a web site or bulletin board I can go to to keep track of these kinds of things? Not that I don't think your blog isn't great (it is), it's just that I wonder how I could get wired. Until then, and probably even after, I'll just check into your blog.
