A Comment on Furry & Feathery Weather Predictors

A Look at Predicting Weather in 2008

With Global Warming firmly setted in place does anyone really take Punxsutawney Phil, the mild-mannered and fair-weathered Ground Hog's opinion on when Spring is really arriving? If the average schmoe person(ality) (who needn't even be a Math Wiz) takes a look at the calendar, it's been calculated that Spring is nearly exactly 6 weeks after the 2nd of February, hog or no hog.

Pulling the wool over People's eyes only shows that the Animals are, once again, much smarter than we are. They have built in indicators when the Seasons are going to change. We have to rely on Rodents or Meteorologists who may not hit the Storm right on its center.

After all, the Real Indicator of a Change in the Weather is when the Birds fly south and the Monarch (Butterflies) zoom & flutter off to Mexico. That's the real Clue as to when Snow Bunnies should board-up the house and head south...not to mention a man-made trick played on a Ground Hog who could be hibernating for something we already may or may not know...
