Koopersmith on The Art of Writing Well.

Chicago, IL USA.

Not playing by The Rules is the rich man, poor man and revolutionary's state. If you have enough; you don't need rules. If you're poor enough and under the wire, the rules don't apply to you and if you take issues at face value, breaking the rules is expected. For all others, life is pretty boring in a traditional way. Writing leads to breaking rules - no matter what month it is; what day of the month it is, or if a person is rich, poor or counter-culture. Word-Play has that capability, which is one of the 3-4 major reasons why people write.

Why WRITING is done well (if at all) will be discussed at a later date.
