Immortalizing ASK's EVENTOLOGY's Twenty-Third Milestone Year: July 25, 2013.

ASK/CHICAGO's EVENTOLOGICAL MILESTONE:

“Today, Thursday, July 25, 2013 @ 9:45 PM marks my 23RD Year Anniversary of the Creation of the Literary Genre I introduced to the World called:

EVENTOLOGY:
The Art of Event-Making
Adrienne Sioux Koopersmith's
Campaigns For Humanity ©1990

that now contains well over 1,900 'Holidates to Celebrate' in 34 precise Categories. Enjoying the Concept of HOW EVENTS AFFECT US that has subsequently spanned across so many Topics is what I find so fascinating about the entire Process that Eventology has produced and hopefully, will continue to provide in the Days, Times and Decades ahead. That spells out as ‘Intrigue’ to me. And, of course, many of the Topics have lent themselves to my Books & Movie Scripts. After all the Seed of anything does begin with a Thought that takes place and grows from that point on. Twenty-three years encompasses over One-Third of my Lifetime in Points (alone).”

From the Creator of: E¢O-Christmas©1994 by A.S. Koopersmith - A Holidate in Transition

Chicago, IL USA

Created back in the day - during the very late 1900's amidst the Dot Com Boom and the proliferation of the Personal Computer, E¢O-Christmas ©1994 was a Holidate that allowed people to acknowledge the fact that the Spirit of the Season does not lay and lie in the PRESENT, but in the Generosity & Spirituality of the Event -- no matter what religion or belief system a person possessed.

Held on December 26, the day directly and immediately after Christmas, this was an extremely ripe time to buy all your gifts after Christmas in order to save 50% as well as effort, gas, time, mall confusion and cut down on stress. Not only did E¢O-Christmas ©1994 imply a grand savings for all participants, by any standards, it immediately cut out the GREED element from what should be a more spirited and spiritual celebration. However, today all of that has changed as the world is enfolded in a recessionary slump - of which some call:

THE SECOND GREAT DEPRESSION

Stores have systematically cut back their prices before Christmas even arrived. In the last Quarter of 2010, Christmas product was found at stores the same time Halloween was being celebrated.

Therefore, Koopersmith’s E¢O-Christmas ©1994 takes on an entirely new meaning and changes – as a FLOATING HOLIDATE – with the times, as they are a’changing. For the toys, tools and trinkets you purchase today, you will save a bit more which is the essence of: E¢O-Christmas ©1994, but for the most part, the greediest entrepreneurs have cut those savings before December 24TH in order to lure you into their stores to obtain your hard earned cash. Six months from now, many of you will still be paying off your credit cards and have totally forgotten about what was bought for whom. A sorry state indeed for humanity.

Ball-Spotting*: Kurt Perschke's RedBall heads South of Congress to The Hyde Park Art Center.

Chicago, IL USA: For all those astute Modern Sculpture Aficionados and Curiosity Hounds, Friday ignited a Weekend Blast that jointly appeals to locals (stayvacationers) as well as Tourists, Sight-see-ers and fellow Artists (of all Genres). The Hyde Park Art Center that is relatively new to The Chicago Art Scene (having opened in April of 2006) was the 9TH Site for Kurt's RedBall Project that 'coveRED' (cover + RED = coveRED which seems to be THE WORD that fits the Occasion perectly) nearly the entire Sidewalk on the South Shore (Line).

Psychology RED-efined:

The Interaction and Reaction is what intrigues the average Person who sees The Ball. The immense Size of TheBall also stops them in their Tracks. Then, like Journalists true to their Art and/or Craft, they automatically ask the 5W's of Journalism. The Combination of The Three IRS Factors (Interaction/Reaction/Size) are Elements that separate a REDBALL Day from any other on the Chicago Art Scene. And, why is this so? Because People are naturally curious. Curiosity makes a person friendlier and ultimately Conversations begin.

New Friends are made.
The Network grows.
Creations of other Dimensions spread.
Peace ensues.

Such was the exact Case when GORF & I finally arrived at 5020 South Cornell, around 2 PM on Friday, September 19TH. We had a long Trek from Edgewater, but We wanted to see the latest Reaction of The RedBall in more of Neighborhood, cozy Setting, away from Corporate Skyscrapers and Pinstriped Suits, Attache Cases and High Heeled Stilettos. Besides, with The Buzz now 20+ Days 'in the Making,' the General Curiosity & Acceptance Level would be peaking regardless of the sensational Weather Conditions.

With a perfectly clear Day and Zero Humidity Factor at hand, We really had no Excuse to be anywhere else. The General Population at the HPAC: Hyde Park Art Center appeared to be more like those enjoying the Ambiance of a French Bistro...seated on comfy Chairs-- of which there must have been 30 Seats and (at least) 15 Tables.

Surrounding KURT was an Entourage of People who were interviewing him. I strolled closer to hear what he was telling them, as a Flurry of Questions kept flying from their Lips. Maybe there was MORE to be learned about his Work than met the Eye...as we heard (FIRST HAND) from The 'Mouth' of The Artist himself.

And then from the 'Mouse' of my Interpretation.

Paraphrased (since city traffic and backround noises were prevalent) is what PERSCHKE told his Assembly of Columbia College Reporters who were all budding Journalists. Just think - their Interview may become Part of Art Journals in the Years to come...along with other Interviews given to Art Greats at deKooning, Picasso, Dali, Paschke and many others who've achieved a large Degree of Acceptance:

QUOTES FROM KP include:
"The Person who ignores it (The RedBall) is a stranger."
Kurt Perschke Quote - Friday, September 19, 2008 - 2:30 PM CST

"You never know who's watching you."

"I don't see the Project as an Object, but an Experience."
Kurt Perschke Quote - Friday, September 19, 2008 - 2:35 PM CST

OTHER COMMENTS KURT SHARED WERE:

-- Earlier in The Day, a Man was arranging Gumballs in various Colors around The RedBall and taking Pictures of it.

-- In June of 2009, Kurt will be designing a Set for a Performance in New York City, his new Home (although by Birth Rights, he's a bona fide Chicagoan).

(ASK Insert: Chances are all this will be documented and updated for his new Followers and Fans from Past Shows on his Website. Stay tuned).

-- Toronto is next on The RedBall Project Schedule for June, 2009. Quite coincidentally, a huge Expose on t-O-r-O-nt-O appears in the Saturday Home Edition of The Chicago Tribune's RedEye on Page 16.

WHEN MILLING AROUND BECOMES AN ATTRIBUTE:
As the 4 Columbia College Students wrapped up their Interview Time with Kurt, more People began gathering outdoors at The Outdoor Cafe/Art Center. Since they were now really 'charged up' from talking to The Artist himself, they were anxious to hear Comments from others on The Sculpture. Because of my 'Milling Around,' I got the Opportunity to speak to Alyssa, Jenn, Isiah and Keith and they were curious (as all inquisitive Reporters should be) as to what my Opinion of The Ball was.

THREE WIN-WIN SITUATIONS:

After all, it's Part of the(ir) Job Description and it's the Food For Fodder (as Chicago Tribune Metro Reporter, Eric Zorn states) that ultimately makes for interesting Reading for their Subscribers;

demonstrates their Instructor was 'right on TARGET' (although Target Retail Stores is Kurt's Sponsor) in assigning this Story; and

their Take makes for a colorful Story in The Archives of Modern Art that all becomes 'history' as the Day passes.

THE BOTTOMLINE: It's a good Idea to take a Tablet of Paper with you wherever you happen to go, as you don't want an(y) Idea to escape a possible Red-Event Story.

Alyssa asked me which Day (from the past 8 Apperances was my Favorite.

"It's not that you like One Location better or over another," I tried to explain to the Students. "A parent doesn't or should not like one of his/her Children more than another. It's just that everyone brings their own Charisma or Charm (or lack of both) to The Table. 'So it goes' is the perfect Phrase that Kurt Vonnegut said as Billy Pilgrim in Slaughterhouse 5 (with his own Preferences). Five (5) different Locations (actually more to this Date) all have something different to offer The Viewer. Then, of course, it's what The Viewer puts into The Surroundings that makes The Opinion either positive, negative or somewhere between in varying Shades of Red (We could and are say(ing)). You just have to be mindful to what each Location (Red Spot) offers and presents. It's the simple Law of Supply +Demand. Kurt Perschke supplies The Inspiration and whatever the Viewers' Demands are (which are totally personal), will emanate from that Presentation and the(ir) Contact."

Quote of ASK: Adrienne Sioux Koopersmith
Friday, September 19, 2008 - 4:20 PM CST

As Alyssa, Jenn, Isiah, Keith & I finished our Chat, two Senioritas (Ladies who just happened to be Senior Citizens) walked by, taking 2 Souvenir Booklets from Kurt's Assistants. "We came by for this Special Occasion," the taller Gal said smiling, pleased to be Part of The Assembly of People who had gathered to admire.

THE DELGADO DILEMMA:
David Delgado arrived late. He was the 5th Spoke(sperson) of the Columbia College Student Group who missed 'the Bus' but biked the Distance, nevertheless to interview Kurt and become a Part of The RedBall Project Experience.

"We could interview each," I said to him, "Since We are both Writers. It's is a good Exercise in and of itself - in order to see WHAT the other Comments are a Person may not pick-up immediately. We both know something about 'The Craft of Writing' and I'm sure the Conversation could be beneficial and spark another Idea or two..."

"You should really go talk to the Artist himself, David. Kurt is right over there," I motioned to him. DD walked over and within a few Minutes came back to where I was still standing with another terrific Quote, that one being:

"The City acts as a Canvas and The Big RedBall is moving through the City, juxtapozed."

"Juxtapoz(ed), "I commented: "That's the Name of a Magazine - an artsy one -- found at Borders and popular Bookstores in your area. You should write up a RedBall Article and send it in to them; maybe you can get it published. You should check this out, seriously. Score some Points with your Creative Writing Instructor, too and 'ace' The Class."

Maybe David will do just that. It is Something he definitely would not have done if Kurt Perschke's RedBall Project had not visited Chicago this September...

OR

do you say that We have been:

septembeRED?

I choose the later, for the obvious Reasons, of course!

UnlimIITed Access to THE RED BALL PROJECT EXPERIENCE continues on:

SATURDAY:
September 20, 2008: The RedBall Project will be at The IIT Campus - 3201 S. State

SUNDAY:
September 21, 2008: The RedBall Project will be at The Chess Pavilion - North Avenue & Lake Michigan

Comments can either make or break a Creative Endeavor. Once again (if Perschke's RedBall was a Movie), you'd have to admit, Roger Ebert would give the Production a 2-Thumbs up.

And, "that's the Way The RedBall Bounces..." for Day #9.

ASK's EDITORIAL CORRECTION:

Ainsley posted a Comment to KOOPERSMITHin stating that:

The Hyde Park Art Center actually dates from June, 1939.

Doing some further Research, I found that after 10 Homes, this Art Facility finally arrived at its modern Center as of 2006. My Posting was to reflect its latest Location from where THE REDBALL PROJECT was documented on Friday, September 19, 2008.

“See, it does pay to reply to Newspaper Articles,” I always say as a Means to reach-out and network with People. It’s a Public Relations Ploy as well as a Method of Learning something new. I did this myself a few Weeks ago after reading an interesting Column that caught my Attention & Interest (both) in a local ‘Sweet Home Chicago’ Neighborhood Newspaper called Inside Editions.

Evidently, Kathy Gemperle of the North Lakeside Cultural Center and Edgewater Historical Society would be curating Two Exhibitions on The Chair. As a Creative Writer and addictively ardent Sitter since Birth, I immediately sent a complimentary Email to her about this ingenious Endeavor (that is clearly near and dear to me for an endless Variety of Reasons) about The Shows which are prudently entitled: ONCE UPON A CHAIR.

We all have our Chair Stories to share. Kathy’s Theme is to collect as many Chairs show-side as possible with an accompanying Explanatory Story, Poem or Commentary as to its Uniqueness. What defines ‘Uniqueness’ is totally left-up to the individual Artist’s and Writer’s Imagination.

“How cool is that,” I enthusiastically mentioned to Kathy when We initially met on Saturday, March 15TH – the Ides of March – a Date that lives in Infamy. After all, if JC: Julius Caesar had only been seated on a Chair instead of being a Trouble-Maker that Day, he may have lived through that perilous Moment.

TO CONTINUE: Way back in 1999 when The Mindset was ‘The Turn of The Millennium’ (and Century, too, for that matter) and the Critical Concern was if the Y2K Bug would infect and set us back 1000 years, I was diligently concentrating on and examining Inventions that were produced (and taken to market) from 999-1999 that We, as a People and Advancing Global Economy, could not easily do or live without.

My Realization or Decision (unanimously and without a doubt) selected:

THE CHAIR.

To me, all Great Ideas are born on, in or near a Chair. If you think of a Master Plan, you may (very well) be seated. In order for you to advance that Impression moreso, you need to be seated comfortably in order to further contemplate its Steps or Procedures; write it up; draw it out, set it up, discuss it at length and then to disperse or dispense it via eMail or in Snail-Mail Fashion (tucked into an Envelope), all of which are Tasks that We do best while seated…in The Comfort of a Chair.

“Historically, The Chair can be seen and traced back as ‘The Catalyst or The Grandfather’ that began The Process which We now commonly know, acknowledge and recognize as ‘Multi-Tasking.’”

Quote of: ASK: Adrienne Sioux Koopersmith
Monday, April 7, 2008 – 9:50 AM

As a Prime Example, I myself am curled up on a Chair as I compose these Thoughts for you to read and consider.

“After all, if you’re going to ‘walk The Walk and talk The Talk’ you might as well ‘DO IT’ while being seated in or on a Chair.”

Quote of: ASK: Adrienne Sioux Koopersmith

AS HISTORY RECORDS IT:

I was seated on my Bike Seat (a mobile Chair, in my mind) during The Afternoon of Sunday, November 7, 1999 when I peddled past an Antique Shop on North Ashland Avenue in Chicago (not far from Wrigley Field), Home of The Cubs where Fans gather and robotically sit for Hours on Bleachers, a modified Chair (if We want to get technical about it).

In front of this Antique Parlor, (to get the Passersbys’ Attention) stood Six (6) Chairs – all from different Periods of Time, Styles and Material Compositions. I stopped my Bike. I was mesmerized. They inspired me so much, I was forced to go directly Home (without stopping at The Grocery Store for Chocolate, Candy and Salty Snacks or to ‘collect $200’) and for three constant Weeks (Day-in and Day-out; from Dawn-to-Dusk) wrote about Chairs.

Oh, these Writings were not resource-laden and filled with Names of renown Designers, etc. These Chapters were lighter Literary Lots that gave The Chair more of an animated Personal Feel packed with culled Insights, collective Truths and consistent Observations – as if you were reading about a Dear Friend who, after 1,000 Years was finally getting their Honorary Due for withstanding the The Tests of Time, Trials, Space and Hardships. After writing 35 Chapters and carefully illustrating The Pages with Assortments of squawking Comics and appealing Black & White Drawings and Clipart, I named The Book:

Chairs.com ©1999.

CALLING ALL WORDICOLOGISTS:

Whereby the next 38 .com Prefix Words (and their relevant Meanings) symbolize the Action Verbs and/or Nouns that are normally achieved mentally, physically and/or spiritually found in The Usefulness of THE CHAIR. With The Aid of a Chair, these Actions are highly obtainable and many times, without much Exertion or tremendous Physical Effort.

And yes, I performed and engineered all that ‘COM-motion’ while sitting in The Confines of Chairs I have known and loved throughout my Lifetime. You have, too, if you stop and think about your Past. That immense .com-List allows me to gratefully reflect on all The Things I have successfully ac-COM-plished while ‘Sitting in a Chair.”

Having earned the Literary Designations as:

‘America’s Premier Eventologist’
by Gene Koprowski of Insight Magazine (Washington, DC) in August of 1997

&

‘The Premier Eventologist in The History of The World’
by Eric Zorn of The Chicago Tribune (Chicago, IL) in January, 2001,

in accordance with The Times, I took The Liberty to significantly declare The New Millennium Year of 2000 as THE YEAR OF THE CHAIR.

WAS IT MERE COINCIDENCE? Then, in August, 2000, I noticed in a local Newspaper (again) that The City of Chicago was sponsoring an Urban Furniture Public Art Event called SUITE HOME CHICAGO that would be comprised of life-size Fiberglass Forms (namely a Sofa, Chair, Ottoman & TV).

I then said to my Self: “Why not follow-up with a Book on THE TABLE this Time around?” I again got started on that Inspiration. After plugging and penning away (Day-in and Day-out; from Dawn to Dusk), like clockwork, 3 Weeks later:

Tables.com ©2000

appeared. Tables.com ©2000 follows the same explicit Format as Chairs.com ©1999 and is the most appropriate Sequel any Book could or should ever have. The Finishing Touch was adding The Third and Final Section of The Text recognizing The Union between The Chair and The Table.2 This Trilogy can be published, viewed and read as One, Two or Three Books.

In precise Eventological Manner, I proclaimed 2001 as:

THE YEAR OF THE CHAIR & THE TABLE.

“Events turn Our Days into Memories that express Our Wills and Temperaments.”

Quote of: ASK: Adrienne Sioux Koopersmith
Tuesday, April 8, 2008 – 3:02 PM

Eleven Years previously with this Mindset firmly sewn into place, I solely embarked on The Great Creative Journey and Launch of:

EVENTOLOGY ®
The Art of Event-Making
Adrienne Sioux Koopersmith’s Campaigns For Humanity ©1990

by designing and promoting that nouveau Literary Style that Today contains 1,700+ HOLIDATES TO CELEBRATE ®. Falling into 39 fastidious Categories, EVENTOLOGY ® is a sure-fire Way to address Issues in order to spotlight their Significance. Now, 11 Years later, Two of EVENTOLOGY’s Primary Tools, THE CHAIR & THE TABLE were receiving their ‘Just Desserts.’ There’s nothing more enjoyable and relaxing than to be seated in a Chair holding an open Book in your Lap with a Table at Arm’s Length away. After that Point, any Thing gains The Potential to happen and has The Ability and The Agility to take on a Life of its very own. Few would disagree with me on those solicited, coveted Statements.

EVENTOLOGY ® is and remains as The Modus Operandi of my PRAM: Public Relations – Advertising – Marketing Business ® and ultimately, my Legacy that’s been artistically unfolding and cultivated since 1979 that positively aims to place ‘The Pop’ into Pop Culture.

THE BOND THAT BINDS:

Then, I decided to fuse ‘The Two’ together because People2 share a Common Tendency and Thread. My Reasoning was:

“If there’s a Chair in a Room, Chances are, a Table is near. This handsome Duo is found on every Continent from Cabins to Condos. The Chair and The Table go together like Baseball & Cracker Jacks.”

Quote of: ASK: Adrienne Sioux Koopersmith
Sunday, April 6, 2008 – 8:57 AM

Voila, the complete Book called:

CHAIRS & TABLES.com
“The Chair & The Table…Salutatory Expressions”
An Insider’s Study When ‘Considering Beginnings’ ©1999-2000

is labeled as an IHP: Informational Humor Primer by Genre.

FLASHBACKING TO MARCH 15, 2008: While Kathy and I were discussing The Merits of ‘The Exhibitions and my Book’ (that currently needs to be re-published), she asked if I’d speak about Chairs and design (some) Posters for the Shows. How could I resist?

THE SHOWS will be held at:

ADDITIONALLY: Segments focusing on the 5W’s of this Exhibition and my CHAIR-ished Writings will and have been appearing on My Blog, KOOPERSMITHin’ ® that is found at:

http://adriennesiouxkoopersmith.blogspot.com/

An open and lively Discussion about GRAMMAR & THE CHAIR as to whether Mankind sits ON or IN a Chair will also be debated.

IN SUMMARY:

“Chairs. There’s nothing like them. ‘What’s COM-parable?’ is a difficult Question to intelligently answer as there really isn’t an Object that comes close.”

As I ponder that Puzzle, I find my Self using The Convenience of a Chair for a Make-Shift Closet. Sometimes, I place my Treats on it and temporarily store Items on them. I have even been known to hide Things under them! Like every Dog, every Chair gets its Day(s). The Chairs’ Days have arrived. That Period is noted as: April 30 through June 7.

“This Celebration of The Chair COM-mands a Standing Ovation.”

Quote of: ASK: Adrienne Sioux Koopersmith

AS MORALS GO:If a Moral to this Media Release exists, it would be:

“It’s The Chair and nothing but The Chair.”

For those of you wondering, my Third Choice of Top Inventions for the Last Millennium were Johann Gutenberg’s Printing Press that later led to The Proliferation of Typewriterization & The LapTop. Those Fetes consequently ignited to The Upsurge in Reading, Language and Communication. My Fourth Selection was The Invention of The Toilet (that really is a Chair, in disguise) which catapulted The Convenience of Indoor Plumbing. Fortunately for Mankind, The Cycle of Life continues with beneficial Results that never cease to amaze, amuse and pamper me. Appreciating and Praising them is what We often neglect to do.

Following suit, I will devote Three Weeks Day-in and Day-Out; from Dawn to Dusk scoring that Document, step-by-step.
