TOPIC’s AGENDA:

A GIA:  General Interest Article  based on how one solitary Event can change a Person’s Viewpoint no matter what Age s/he may be.

THE OPENER:  MAN’S OBSESSION WITH TIME (OR THE LACK OF IT)

As of 2012, for those of you born in 1952, you can be labeled as ‘a recent Graduate of The 50s.’ This means you successfully completed your 6TH Decade of Life (defined as the Blocks of Time running from the Ages of: Inception-9; 10-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; and 50-59).  Finalizing the Decade (that encompassed the years of 50 through 59), as a Member of the Class of (19)70, you may have awoken this year with an extremely unexplained nausea in your gut on the Eve of your Birth(day).  That was my reaction (gut reaction, at that) when August 8, 2012 tumbled into Thursday, August 9, 2012…officially heralding in my 60TH Birthday.  Never anticipating this malady, it was no way in which to kick-off my biggest Celebration yet.

Like those rugged individuals crossing America in the Gold Rush Days 163 years ago, we are Pioneers at the forefront, cross-roads and threshold of something gigantic that will affect all sectors of Life from this pivotal point on(ward).  It’s exciting, yet depressing; a Challenge and an Adventure whereby  ‘being young at heart’ is easily replaced by aches, throbs, wrinkles, spotting, forgetting and wetting at the most inconvenient of times.  Yet, you’ll never be this young again as you are now nor will you be as old as you are tomorrow.

Keeping up with ‘The Times of your Life’ takes Time, Patience and Perseverance.   Taking note of what your immediate interests, needs and concerns are has been a hot topic (packed with meaning and relevance) in Senior Magazines where the(ir) primary emphasis features the ‘Mature Crowd.’  Those periodicals (by name) include (but are not limited to):
