Visiting a Friend who edits Film, I received a Lesson in what it takes to edit Film, something I never had seen before. Although it’s better to accumulate and splurge on a lot of Material, at the end of the Story/Movie or Day, there’s only so much that’s relevant that anyone wants to concern themselves with. On the Cutting Floor is how Words & Scenes both end up; eventually, but in the Meantime, each Time Frame is an Indicator of what happened that preserves itself for the ‘Next Big Splurge’ and how it will be spliced and remembered in your Mind in the years ahead – if it is at all. Deemed as mighty heavy duty thinking for the First of December, #Cyber_Monday when many Online Shoppers splurge their Way into Debt, but it’s their Prerogative. Outsplurging the next Guy or Gal is sometimes an addicting Way to find Acceptance.

National Splurge Day’s The Daily Splurge #164 for Tuesday, December 2, 2014 is perhaps the most wonderful SPLURGE DAY of the Month as its TOYSday and now that Christmas will be here in 23 days, there’s no time like the PRESENT than to buy your PRESENTS in the Presence of some of the major TOY Companies in the world. Not only are they online where you can shop easily for them, but if you really want to pull a SPLURGE-O-RAMA (a hefty SPLURGE) costing $100,000 or more, then it’s time to board a private jet and go anywhere you wish to go to buy those Toys, Whistles and Bells. I need not say anymore…after reading 163 of these DAILY SPLURGES, I’m sure you know how I feel about having my TOYS and playing with them, too (or more)

The World of Chocolate is holding their Annual Event in which Chocolate Samples are concocted by some of the top Chocolatiers across Chicago. Too many to list by Name, once you get a Choco-Morsel in your Mouth, you will never be the same aGAIN, nor will your Weight & Waist Line. But it’s worth ‘The Wait’ as you can always exercise like a Triathlete months before this popular Event. After all, 5 Months ago, Today was the 4^TH of July, Independence Day #238, a good a Point as any in which to try to keep as healthy as you can for as long as you can. Chocolate contains that ‘Special Something’ that makes any Event a Festival and is now considered Healthy-For-You with Antioxidants being in the Food and Nutrition Spotlight. So sweet.

National Splurge Day’s The Daily Splurge #167 for Friday, December 5, 2014 is a Historical Accounting of what it was like to #splurge 30 years ago. This is in honor of my Best Friend’s Son who turns 30 Today, meaning his Dad has now been a Father 30 times, officially. 30 Years ago Today in 1984, I was 32 and was the First Woman Rock Promoter living and based out of Chicago, the 3^rd largest cosmo-metropolitan City in the USA. “A Time of like it’s totally 80s” is the Expression and how the Internet tells us it was, in hip jive Lingo. The most FUN Part about exploring our History and Historical Past is the Prices of Merchandise ‘back in the Day.’ Of course, Salaries were lower (but never equal), and if those Prices were to return, that would mean more Money for a bigger Financial Splurge, which really is the one and only Thing that’s allowable on ‘Big Birthdays’ as these. After all, a Guy doesn’t turn 30 every Day. Moreover, when that Date on a Friday, it spells out that he has the entire Weekend as an Excuse to celebrate that significant Event. Let’s just hope ‘The Mother’ has her Figure back by now.

On my Way to a Splurgerrific Weekend in which to get caught up on the Splurges REH & I had to make in the Middle of our Morning, we received an urgent Phone Call from the Building Supervisor. He told us that within less a city block from Home a Murder had taken place last night around 8 PM and that We should be leery and on our guard. Therefore, let this DS: Daily Splurge serve as a Warning to those walking in quiet, subdued Neighborhoods to walk in three’s and if necessary, trust your Gut Instinct. One of the students approached thought his attacker wielded a play gun. When the bullet went off, aimed at his chest, he suddenly learned that it wasn’t, dead on the spot. Mall Parking Lots are where Criminals lay in ambush. Check the Windows of your Car/Van to make sure no one is hiding in wait. Taking a few Precautions can add years on to your life. It’s that easy to do so that when you do go out to SPLURGE, it’s your BOY: Best One Yet.

National Splurge Day’s The Daily Splurge #169 for Sunday, December 7, 2014 is a Tribute and or Introduction to Duke Fulco di Verdura, the Sicilian Jewelry Maker who happened to associate with Coco Chanel (1883- 1971), the French Fashion Designer who became popular in both the Paris Literary and Artistic Worlds. Coca may best remembered as being Creator of the LBD: Little Black Dress.

Deciding to reinvent her Look, Duke di Verdura thus created for himself a Reputation in the Fine Jewelry Industry that later catered to ‘The Stars’ when Movie Making was just beginning. Opening his First Salon on Fifth Avenue in New York and established in 1939, this Move correlated to a Time when Stories of every Possibility were tearing the World apart, yet something extraordinary was happening in Fashion and The Arts that would later be unrivaled.

Shortly thereafter, with the Advent of the Television Set, this catapulted (t)his Visibility further to Super-Stardom as more and more People became hooked on the High Intensity that only the Screen could provide.

And, how did I know that? In this case, they can, do and should. On this cold and blistery day in Chicago, I glanced at the Patio Restaurant Sign, hanging above the street, swinging slightly in the wind. It signaled a time when People ate out; and enjoyed the Outdoor Creature Comforts of having your own Patio. Dining in the Sun. At this time of year in colder places during the first full week in December, that’s not going to happen. That’s where the Daydreaming comes in. And, for those who wish to put Action to Thought, just google ‘Patio’ to give your spot in the sun, a splash of a fancier look. If you do that, you can say you had your Daydream and Splurge, too.

One of the most understated Purchases that should be made before Party Revelers come over to your Abode is that of Paint. Wall Paint. With enough time to paint those Walls, today (merely the 9th of DecemBURR) is the Day to change Colors; change your Room's Attitude, Feel and Look and liven up those 4 Corners. Take down the Pictures. Scrub the Walls down. Let dry. Replace (or better yet) find something else to replace those former Masterpieces with. I suggest the Array of Artists who are found on Twitter or Facebook are thrilling enough to add that variety of Pizzazz to your rooms' surrounding. Some of their Artistry is totally supreme and relatively undiscovered as they use those Social Media Formats as their Movable Screens instead of brick and mortar galleries, being able to touch People across the World and finding a new Audience wherever they post. With the Help and Assistance of total Strangers, they can make a Living and make your Wall stand out, as it should, during this relatively dull and lifeless time -- Winter, in many parts of our Planet. This is the First Step in order to have secured for yourself enough Finances and/or Time in which you can pursue your Splurges, whatever they may be. In the back of my mind was that I’d love to hit 2000 by the time I end my day at 5 PM. I worked it. I wonder how many Pairs one can fit into that amount of Space. They didn’t say how many football fields this would cover, but sports fans can figure that one out. Google just informed me of these Stats: 300,000 Shoes in 1500 Styles and is touted as the largest Store of its kind anywhere in the World As the Queen of Splurge, I would whole-heartedly love to chat more about the Art & Act of Splurging, but I found my Nirvana now…

If it’s time to price-out those Gifts for upcoming Holidays, today is the Day to do it. Why? Because it’s getting close to Chanukah – Christmas – Kwanzaa (in less than 2 Weeks) and if you do not have your Ducks and Dollars lined up in a Row (neat and tidy) then you won’t be prepared for what can turn out to be the Better Deal on the Block. Some of you may not have been too anxious to keep up with those Yearly Splurges. Now as 2014 ends, there’s been a Record 20 years of NATIONAL SPLURGE DAY happening since 1994. That’s historical and hysterical both, deciding on what side of the Boutique, Mall and Charge Card you are on. Hopefully, you’ve been keeping up with all the SPLURGES you’ve made that you didn’t need so that you can ‘ReGift’ those now and thus save Time, Money and Effort doing the BUY –BUY – BUY Thang that so many active Consumers are caught up into. Look at it this way: With all that STUFF lying around and the New Year coming in, don’t you really want to clean up (your act)? Don’t you really need to clean it up? That’s the General Observation I’ve been making the last 60+ years.

If not, that’s totally your Decision (alone), as there are no Clues here, but as Calendars go, only have 16 Days remain and not even that Amount since 4 of those Days are Party Times. If We count in the 7 Days of Kwanzaa, that takes up 5 more Days. The Bottom Line is: I am here to help you ‘Splurge Smarter,’ being the Conscience of Splurging-at-large, small and any Way you can or want to DO IT!

This Revelation came to me yesterday and I created its first Tweet and sent that to Car Manufacturers in order that they can help push through this Motion. The bottom line is: It’s just a darn good idea that should have been done decades ago.

As the term involves The Art & Act of Splurging, is there too much bling? Can there really be enough bling? Does bling cha-ching at particular times of the year or does it pertain only to the person in charge of performing that splurge or bling? Sometimes, both are inseparable. When BLING is good, it’s usually when sharing or giving another person/pet part of that SPLURGE. National Splurge Day’s The Daily Splurge’s #191 for Monday, December 29, 2014 is the Antithesis of what a SPLURGE is – an excessive Way to access a Desirable Commodity. However, sometimes, it’s good to divorce (restrict and cut yourself apart) from that INDULGENCE. Therefore, Today [as we narrow down the Days of 2014]is allocated to look at and carefully examine something you may be doing in excess that you do not want to be the proverbial ‘Albatross around your Neck’ come the New Year. After all, 2015 means We are all well into the 2000s by 15 years (which is a long, long time) and if certain Priorities have not been met, well, then: it’s high time to take a different Road, perhaps one that could lead you on to a New Adventure.

2015 for me is going to be one in which I gravitate from the Sweets in my Life (no not the People who are of that particular Character) but a huge lessening of Foods that I’ve been indulging in. After all, on December 31, 2014 at 11:59 PM, the last Baby-Boomer turns 50; therefore, a huge Demographical Shift occurs that has never occurred in the History of Mankind. Accompanying that Phenom is the Fact that People’s Metabolisms slow down and with that, Weight Gain occurs that can lead to an assortment of medical problems. We all have our Vices to contend with. Being knowledgeable about them and nipping them at the(ir) Bud is something that you’ll find is a new Excess and Splurge you will find quite rewarding in the Years ahead… that are appropriately marked as:

National Splurge Day’s The Daily Splurge’s #192 for Tuesday, December 30, 2014 is a take-off of something mighty sweet (no, not dealing with Food at this particular time) that someone mighty special did for me yesterday. It was a Surprise that soon became a valuable Addition to one of my Collections of Red Eyed Green Tree Frogs. Robert (the Fiancée) was out and about in the Hood yesterday and stopped into one of our local Antique Shops on the Strip. He requested seeing their Line of Red Eyed Green Tree Frog Statues and from there, picked out for me a Collectible created by an Artist that he knew while repping him in his Shop when he owned Ancient Echoes Boutique (circa the 1980s).

One of the most Fun Things is how I found “GORPH JR.” whose Name is a Takeoff of my Series of GORF Books & Scripts that deals with the Red Eyed Green Tree Frog that is 217,000,000 years old. GORF (by the way) is FROG back-words. An inch in Diameter with spectacular Ruby Eyes and 11 Black Marks on his Green Enameled Back, GORPH JR. was sitting ‘in the pond’ where his Mermaid Statue stands that is also a Collectible.

THE MORAL OF THIS GENEROUS SURPRISE FOR THE DAILY SPLURGE – the Last Tuesday of 2014 is: With all that said, think of someone you can SPLURGE on Today and make that person very happy. Tomorrow you shall have other projects to tackle and contend with…like all those Resolutions that are set to kick in at the Stroke of Midnight!

As we know, it’s now the time of year, the month of January, where closing out the Christmas selling season when so many more things (that many of us need or think we need) are on sale. That’s the BUZZ WoRD. When items are ON SALE that means we get more bang and buck for oru splurges. There is hardly a thing wrong with that. It has to be taken advantage of and should be a priority for today.

However, there are many people 'OUT THERE' who need those items and commodities moreso than you. Therefore, from SPLURGE CENTRAL here, it is encouraged to go to the malls and your favorite shops where these THINGS are sold and buy them in quantities of TEN – saluting the TENTH of the Month and then deliver them to shelters and pantries in your area. You can also contact the brand name – the manufacturer to let them know what you’ve done. Take a few photos of your contribution; post so that others can do the same!

Booklet that was a delight to create as it contains my kindergarten picture. We must never forget where we came from. Why is this event being mentioned today in THE DAILY SPLURGE? Because there are things to always be thankful for, which includes THE SPLURGE and the right and freedom to be able to do so. Places here on our granite planet still abound where this is not happening, sad to say, but it must be said so our democratic ideals reign supreme. Holidates to celebrate (as I call all 1900+ that I’ve developed since July 25, 1990) are days with an assortment of positivity. The way it should be; even in the international eyes of tragedy and sorrow. What else can we do but keep on keeping on? Merely called BACKBONE for those who choose that route.

National Splurge Day’s The Daily Splurge #207 for Wednesday, January 14, 2015 is a month before Valentine’s Day in which LOVE is in the Air and splurging on its ACCOUNTREMENTS is what the Stores – Shops and Boutiques want us to do. Also, if you are a guy and in the dog-house, this is a very good way in which to get out of it. However, there is something that we can no longer get out of and it is the THREAT that is here to stay: OF TERRORISM. We all are on high alert. We have been on high alert for street crime which seems to pale when thinking of the Terrorist Groups who are hell-bent on destroying our Civilization and Cultural Societies. Enter: Je Suis Charlie.

In the wake of the Terrorist attack on PARIS as well as the heightened fear We all feel – as well as the Kids (aged 10) who are being blown up by Crazies in Nigeria, the idea of SPLURGING & doing/buying/enjoying the finer things in life and in excess appears as unfathomable. How can you enjoy ANYTHING when so many others are dying.

Therefore, what needs to be splurged on is UNITY in order that We can all feel safer and happier. My Facebook Friend, RACHEL DUBBER who lives in CapeTown, South Africa posted this about 51 minutes ago and she could not say it any better. Join in with her message. Feel free to post this as it says IT all:

National Splurge Day’s The Daily Splurge #208 for Thursday, January 15, 2015 - where Ones and Fifteens rule the Day (considered an Ides in Calendrical Time) is a refreshing SWITCH from thinking and dwelling on and about the Abruptness and Rudeness of Terrorism and how it is wrecking our lives, to one where TOYS – on THOISDAY – or THURSDAY marks the spot. 15 times over for the upcoming Events (as Valentine’s Day) when a TOY is a complete JOY to have. Keeping this positive Note in mind, there’s just cause to now plan to SPLURGE for your Spring of 2015 Wardrobe, which can be anything you can fit in to after wildly splurging on this past Holiday’s Goods and Sweets. With so much competition, every major retailer was vying for your Buck & Coin, therefore, a large percentage of the Population, LOST CONTROL.

The Question now remains:

Chances are you definitely can if you drink three (3) 10-ounce Glasses of V8, the Sodium Variety (although others do exist for your sipping pleasure), which helps to satiate your Appetite so you will not have the Tendency to devour and consume so many unnecessary Calories, that equate to Pounds that later leads to Fat & Morbid Obesity.
