Screenwriters: If you placed as a Quarterfinalist, but didn't make IT any higher, this is what you should consider doing:

POSTED ON SCRIPTAPALOOZA’s FB PAGE – BUT THIS MESSAGE PERTAINS TO ALL SCREENWRITERS EVERYWHERE:

Congratulations 2 all the terrific Screenwriters who placed in Mark’s Scriptapalooza’s Screenwriting Competition as a Quarterfinalist Winner! Jump for JOY – U made it thus far!

QQ: Quick Question: Mark, how many Quarterfinalists submitted Entries this year? I'm just curious as compared to the entries you received from last year. R U finding UR getting more and more screenwriters - I would guess that answer is: YES!

Now for some WoW: Words of Wisdom for all Quarterfinalist Winners who DO NOT make the Semi-Finalist Position and that is:

Start your Rewriting now - as it was prob. something that did not flow correctly that prevented you from getting to that position and/or higher in case you do not make SaP’s Semi-Finalist Positioning.

FYI: My script, iN THE COMPANY OF ANTS ©2009 placed in Mark's Quarterfinalist Ranking last year and I've been rewriting said Script steadily the last 4 months. Plus, I now have ‘ANTS’ sanctioned as 2 Books & 2 Scripts so I now have 2 outstanding Products to sell. It is totally differ-ANT than it was. And I am more pleased than ever before.

ANOTHER SET OF WoW: Words of Wisdom is that: Don’t submit a script till you let it ‘set & simmer’ for a while – even as long as 2 months. The thought and rewrites you will gain will sharpen it all the more. Maturity does help in cases like this.

MY SUGGESTION: As a Quarterfinalist, get started now in your editing, rewriting and reviewing so you can take your Script (yourself) to the next level, as U will have to start promoting it on your own with your own vices and devices. U will learn so much more about the WRITING PROCESS. And U’ll be spurred on to keep at it, since U now have this Designation – by beating out 1000s of others that you were competing with!

Again, CONGRATS! U’ve come a long ways – and there’s still a long ways to go, but don’t forget – it only takes 1 person to believe in that Script…

C U on the Red Carpet!

Cheers,
