TOY Stylist for hire: Making a Smile spread across TOY-dom.

Having an inborn knack that deals with EVERYTHING TOY -- I often wonder what it would be like NOT to have TOYS. I've been enriched by them for 59 years now and have kept everyone of them that has entered my life.

They have, as you could say: Taken over.

However, because I am also a NBW: Natural Born Writer - I combine both of those Passions into a Series of Books & Screenplays called:

SKiN: Sacred Kinship in Nature (TM)
How 10 Beloved Plush Toys Redefine Race (C)2009

that uses a select 'population' of my TOY-JOYS to:

eliminate Racism;
dispel the Mixed Signals & Ironies we receive daily; and
get to the Heart of what really matters.

Today, Monday, September 26TH as I went TOY HUNTING, as I always do at fine resale shops around, I talked to a Mother & Aunt with their small Daughter & Niece in the TOY Department. I began 'pulling' from the SHELF toys the gal would like. Low and behold, they bought all 6 of them. The older woman smiled and said: "You really have a knack for this. When will you be back so we can meet up here for another Round?" Needless to say, I was very pleased and happy both. I spread some cheer; made some friends and this opened up an opportunity that I will now share with you all:

Need a Toy Stylist?

Got a birthday - anniversary - Christmas - Valentine's Day - Hanukah - Halloween/HOWL-O-WEEN coming up and need a Special Toy?

If so, email me at: askoopersmith(at)hotmail(dot)com

TOYS when bought at resale are a fraction of 'The Cost' of a Retail Toy. In this day & age you have to affix quality with economy. I do both. And the outcome is stupendous, if I say so myself. If not, ask the 2 women as they departed with one happy 'baby girl.'

This offer is open to people around the world. If you are a collector of TEDDY BEARS, for instance, I can be hired on a yearly bases to scour all resale shops - everything is designed and customized to your NEEDS, one TOY @ a time!

Norton Juster's Release of THE PHANTOM TOLLBOOTH - 50 Yr. Anniv Edition Countdown: 1 Month To Go!

ASK's LITERARY RECO: MARK YOUR CALENDAR: A Month from Today - on October 25, Norton Juster's THE PHANTOM TOLLBOOTH -- its 50TH Year Edition is released. Somehow &in some odd way I never heard of it or read it till 2008 altho it was penned in 1961 when I was just 9. If I had, I certainly would have overcome my Fear of Numbers. Next to the WIZARD OF OZ - it's got to be (to me anyway) 1 of the 2 best Books penned during the 1900s. And, doesn't that sound so long ago? Enjoy it! All sorts of copies are being sold online - check out: http://www.squidoo.com/phantomtollbooth for starters.

ATTN ALL WRITERS: This is your Cordial Invite to the Chicago Literary Hall of Fame’s Oct. & Nov., 2011 Events.

BLOG RELEASE: Saturday, September 24, 2011 - 10:17 AM CST

There’s no one I respect and admire more than those who write - an Art that pertains and encompasses all that we ‘adhere’ to in whatever chosen Field we happen to be in and in whatever Passion we follow. Writers & Authors are the Folks who grab my undivided Attention, first and foremost. And, for a very simple Reason. I write too. Writing seems to be ‘in our blood.’ When I think about it, I can’t think of anyone who doesn’t write. Thinking + Writing go hand-in-hand (no pun really intended there).

Granted, there are societies who sadly are not 'as privileged' as we are - who haven’t figured out their ABC’s, but for the vast majority of Earthlings here, Writing is Second Nature to us. It’s #1 on my Hit List for decades now! And for that lengthy multi-word opener, I wish to begin by telling you about

DONALD G. EVANS’ Concept called:
THE CHICAGO LITERARY HALL OF FAME

that will be holding Two (2) Momumental Events slated for October 12 and November 15, 2011.

THE CELEBRITY AUCTION & COCKTAIL PARTY is highlighted by the Appearance & Presence of JANET DAVIES, the Emmy Award-Winning Entertainment & Feature Reporter of ABC Channel 7. Meeting at the awesome Cliff Dwellers Club, this hot spot has been the Setting for countless Art related Parties since its Inception in 1907, over 100 years ago. Just imagine all those Personalities who stared out of its Windows and found Inspiration from the 'Sighs & Sights' of our very own Chicago, Illinois! That's a figure that certainly boggles one's mind, if left to its own vices, advices and devices, which is what Writing is all about. Tickets (priced at the moderate Price of $20 a Piece for this mesmerizing Event) may be purchased at:

http://clhofauction.com/eventbrite.com.

Mark your Calendar for October 12, 2011 from 5:30-8 PM.

BY THE WAY: We (i.e.: Donald & his Staff of Coordinators for the 2ND Chicago Literary Hall of Fame) are still collecting Memorabilia for the Celebrity Auction on Wednesday, October 12. In case you would like to make a Contribution that Generosity would be most appreciated.

Later, on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 (from 6-8 PM CST), The Inductee’s Ceremony is emcee’d by RICK KOGAN of The Chicago Tribune, an Author/Journalist whose Credentials read like a Who’s Who in Writing, as he followed in his Dad’s steps. By the way, while researching Mr. Kogan’s illustrious Career, I found that: “His parents named him Rick and not Richard as a Tribute to Riccardo's, a legendary Chicago restaurant and watering hole that now is known as Stefani's.” Thank you, Wikipedia for the little Jewels & Gems that yield those tidbits & tidbytes we Writers & subsequently, Readers need to know when composing a Page in the best way possible.

As Emcee at the CINDY PRITZER AUDITORIUM located in the Lower Level of the Harold Washington Library, RICK will be hosting The Show whose Inductees include: Cyrus Colter, Theodore Dreiser, Harriet Monroe, Mike Royko, Carl Sandburg & Ida B. Wells.

OK, I’m not exactly thrilled that only 2 of the 6 (or one-third) Inductees are Women, but I admire the mere Idea of what an Institution of this Stature means to Chicago, as a great Cultural Center that millions call ‘Home’and millions visit annually. This is what stands out in my mind for Writers at all levels of Achievement, Age & Agelessness.

To me, as a ‘Natural Born Writer’ since I learned the Alphabet circa 1957, THE CHICAGO LITERARY HALL OF FAME is the most exciting Literary Concept to emerge in Decades, anywhere.

Part of that Reason is because the CLHoF emanates, includes and highlights Chicago;

Part of that Reason is that the CLHoF deals with Writing;

Part of that Reason is that Writing is the Basis of Civilization & Communication;

Part of that Reason is that every Man, Woman & Child has a Story-to-tell that can be put into Words so that they, too, someday can be immortalized into a Hall of Fame (wherever they call ‘Home’) -- perhaps THE CHICAGO LITERARY HALL OF FAME that was created and advanced by the Skill, Imagination & Fortitude of DONALD G. EVANS. Because I created Cartoonists Against Crime ©1991, the International Comic Art Crusade of the 1990s that intersected Art with Words, I can instantly and instinctively see the Positive Effects and Goodwill of THE CHICAGO LITERARY HALL OF FAME.

For those Reasons and a few of your own that can be drawn, I don’t want you to miss these Two Events – History Makers as they very well may become, if you ‘ASK’ me.

Please visit: http://www.chicagoliteraryhof.org/ for more Detail and Insights.

AND IF I MAY ADD &/OR SUGGEST: As a Writer/Author-in-The-Know, you may wish to attend these Events and encourage your Associates to also attend, network and support our Cause.

For any and all pertinent Questions, please feel free to contact our Executive Director & Creator: DONALD G. EVANS at:

IN CLOSING: On behalf of THE CHICAGO LITERARY HALL OF FAME, thank you for your Time & Attention devoted to my word-filled Notice here. Enjoying ‘the Power of the Written Word’ as we both most certainly do, I hope to meet you at the above Events.

"Why Writers Write" by ASK. Excerpt #1

http://adriennesiouxkoopersmith.blogspot.com/2011/09/get-your-motor-running-with-chicago.html

This URL contains everything you ever wanted to know about THE CHICAGO LITERARY HALL OF FAME, but was not afraid to ASK. Reading & Writing along with speaking and shopping (OK, 3 out of 4 aren’t bad odds) are the most viable & visible Ways to express ourselves.

I’ve long been fascinated as to why Writers write and although I’m putting Words into other Writer’s Mouths, Decades of Experience can’t be proven wrong. I do have my hunches and pertinent reasons why this is so based on years of acute Observation, sneaking Suspicions and dignified Guesses.

“By remembering the Past, its Writers, Contributors and Supporters, the Foundation is securely built to fortify the Picture whose Words substantiate the Reasons why Writers write.”

QUOTE OF ASK: ADRIENNE SIOUX KOOPERSMITH
Wednesday, September 21, 2011 – 6:51 AM CST

Please join DONALD G. EVANS, the Pioneering Genius behind this Concept on October 12 for about THE CHICAGO LITERARY HALL OF FAME’s Annual Fundraiser and on November 15 for the Inductee’s Ceremony.

As for the Shopping ‘Thing’ mentioned before, Shopping for Writer’s Tools & Books – comprise my favorite Pastime – next to wondering why and writing about IT all.

ASK's Publicity Rates: 4TH Quarter of 2011 through 2012.

ASK’s PROMOTIONAL MOTTO & MANTRA: “Being your ‘Eyes, Ears & Hands-on Contact here in Chicago’ by clocking its Pulse to your Needs (gaining and adding Visibility to your Project and/or Product) since you may not be located in this Metropolitan and Cosmopolitan Arena.”

The fact that I hold the Title of ‘Chicago’s First Leading Rock & Roll Publicity Personality from 1979-1992’ - lending my Expertise to 40 of Chicago’s Top Bands (representing in NYC & LA for years on end) - gives you (THE CLIENT) unlimited Access to my Wealth of Artistic Creativity of which there are no Limits. Now, even after 20 years, I am still in contact with many of those Movers and Shakers (from LA and NYC and points between and beyond) that I befriended ‘back then.’ These are Friendships (based on Honesty & Trust) that cannot be affixed to a(ny) dollar amount.

AS YOU KNOW: In real estate, Location-Location-Location is always touted. Living in Chicago since 1974 (and visiting my Mother’s Folks since 1952 when I was born), I have learned the Insides and Outsides of every Media Format here. Plus, I am friendly and I seem to draw People to me wherever I go. A lot of it is CHARM, I must admit. That’s the Tuth of the matter. I have learned to live with it!

From an acute business perspective, Outsiders (those ‘outside Chicago proper’ and the USA) always need a Representative who has this (full) Knowledge at their Fingertips. That brings me to the next Question.

DID YOU HEAR THE NEWS? FYI: Chicago was voted the 4TH most powerful City in the World according to a Poll that was released on September 16. After all, to get from NYC to LA, you have to stop in Chicago, my Home Turf, where I’ve built myself a great Name & terrific Reputation.

COSTS OF PROMOTIONS: ASK’s PRAM: Public Relations / Advertising / Marketing Rates

$60 Hour with a 25 Hour Minimum, prepaid.

$1,750: 1 Customized Media Release to the Media(ium) of your Choice(s): Radio – TV – Newspapers – Magazines. Regional & Event-driven Media Releases are popular at this point in time. This equates to a ONE-TIME BLITZ of approximately 5,000 generated eMails.

$300: 1 Blog, prepaid.

$300: 15 Facebook Postings and/or 15 Twitters/Tweets, prepaid. It’s customary to hook-up the Blog with the FB & Tweets to get more Mileage from that Blog Writing in order for Google Alerts to be generated.

$2,500 per Month, pre-paid on the First of the Month with a 4-month minimum Guarantee. As a Retainer Fee, this would place YOUR COMPANY into my ‘THINK TANK OF IDEAS DIVISION’ that would allow you to be one of those lucky clients that I 'work' when no one else ‘in your camp’ has such aggressive Skills of Researching; Networking, Writing Skills/Expertise, developing Business & the like.

$12,000, prepaid eMedia Releases per (each) Book an Author has written. This Task encapsulates 3 Monthly News Items about the Book sent to every Book Reviewer / Publication / Radio Showgram featuring ‘The Written Word.’ This Service can be purchased on a Quarterly Basis, prepaid.

$40,000 – Creation of a HOLIDATE® (of which I am internationally known and noted as: ‘America’s Premier Eventologist’ and‘The Premier Eventologist in the History of the World’ via Insight Magazine & The Chicago Tribune in 1997 and 2001, respectively) for a(ny) Subject of your choosing. This includes 3 eMedia Releases to thousands of respective Media before (your) Event happens. IE: An example of this would be my “September is Spoil Your Dog Month" ©2011. I have over 66 Animal elated & related HOLIDATES® created since 1994 (that have received international exposure due to my 2 Titles cited above) that may apply to a PET related operation. Three-Quarters (3/4) of this Amount ($30,000) is due at the beginning of the Project. The Final One-Quarter (1/4) Payment ($10,000) is due 2 weeks before the Event happens. Follow-up to the Event is clocked at $2,500 per month to give the Media an idea of what transpired. This is all based on the anticipated Growth of the next Event that will (no doubt) happen in the following year. HOLIDATING® makes your Cause immortal and an instant Sensation in Pop Culture and to the Media. Due to the Creation of my 1 of my Arts called:

EVENTOLOGY®
The ART of Event-Making
Adrienne Sioux Koopersmith’s Campaigns For Humanity ©1990

Since EVENTOLOGY’s Formation, I have done over 3,000 Radio Interview across the USA, TV Interviews as well as hundreds of Print/Web have been penned by other Writers writing about my Philosophies. This and more can happen to your Projects/Products.

FOR THOSE UTILIZING MY $2,500 PER MONTH RETAINER FEE who pay the $10,000 Quarterly Rate on or before Sunday, January 1, 2012, they will receive Two (2) customized eMedia Releases, for FREE! Now, that’s the way to kick-off the New Year, an Event we all enjoy participating in!

IN CLOSING:

WOTS: Working On The Sabbath! Yes, both of those Days: Saturday & Sunday. I even work on:

my Birthday (for part of the Day, anyway),

Thanksgiving,

Chanukah,

Christmas,

New Years Eve & New Years Day.

Why am I such a hard worker? It is because: A Publicist’s Work is never done – there’s always someone else ‘out there’ to inform.

As my dear friend, Selby (a Cat >^..^< Sitter for decades who always has great tails/tales to tell me about her ‘clients’) recently said:

“Adrienne, you’ve got it, Girl! Because you always have ‘The Last Word.’” I laughed – she was referring to my PR Biz because that’s the Nature of being that Genre of Writer. I would say Selby is ‘write’ again on that account as well as insightful!

As (former) Mayor Richard M. Daley stated in a Personal Letter he penned to me in the Fall of 1993 when he proclaimed my CARTOONISTS AGAINST CRIME ©1991 as a full-fledged HOLIDATE for the CITY OF CHICAGO via a red ribbon and gold-leaf Proclamation: “Together we can create those changes that change the world.”
And, by all means, feel free to pass this Rate Sheet along to any of your Co-horts who need a Job well done!

ASK on Aging: Countdown To 60 - 11 Months & Counting.

Chicago, IL USA:

COUNTDOWN TO 60 is now in 11 more months! But not to worry. We babyboomers take it all in stride & enjoy THE RIDE. My new friend, PEPPER was keeling over - when I told her I was going 2 B 70 in 10 yrs. & 11 months. As a Job Recruiter - she told me MOST people do not advertise their age as freely as I do since so much AGE DISCRIMINATION is out there...but somehow that don't bother me @ all - OR yet. Here's to aging grace-fully!

We are all...iN THE COMPANY OF ANTS. ANThological Views by ASK: Adrienne Sioux Koopersmith

With the Passing of ANT APPRECIATION MONTH INTL as of August 31, 2011, there's still plenty of time to watch ANTS before they begin their winter retreat.

Here's a brief Tale about an inquisitive ANT I met about 20 minutes ago that made me stop and think, which I find to be my usual state since AAF: Ants Are Fascinating. See if you don't agree with me - their logic and survival skills are commendable:

The Big Black sidewalk ANTS who have a Latin Name assigned to them (that’s longer than they are or could ever grow into) are goal-oriented. I saw several today, September 1ST, 2011. Upon my last encounter, I took a few crumbs of Tandoori NAAN Garlic Flatbread that I had bought, broke off a few crumbs, small enough that he could grab and take it back to the COLONY for a mid-evening treat. I spread it around his Path as he made his way towards the intersection. But, alas he took one smell and continued on his way – rapidly traversing the sidewalk – hot as it was – having reached a toddling 96 degrees in the shade. Would this ANT worry that the had garlic bread breath as I would? I think that was the least of his daily dilemmas.

Then, the Calorie count appears on this back of this Package. One NAAN (which is an Indian Flatbread) has 260 calories. If any ANT ate a morsel – crumb of this bread, that caloric intake would register in the 0.1 or less percentile. A swarm of 10,000 ANTS could consume one of these delicious and tender delicacies and share the calories. Calories, you must understand, are not in an ANT’s daily diet like they are in ours. No wonder they’ve lived over 130 million years. Sort of makes you stop, look and wonder why, doesn’t it.
