Feeding Hungry Chicagoans 1 Brown Bag @ a Time.

DATELINE: Wednesday, November 23, 2011 - 12:22 PM CST

So many of you Chicagoans may be asking this: “What is our Mayor doing on the Day B-4 Thanksgiving?” I can tell you. I have first-hand knowledge. Even before 8:30 AM today – on the Eve of America’s 390TH Thanksgiving Day Celebration - Mayor Rahm Emanuel was @ the Turnstyle of the Merchandise Mart’s CTA Stop greeting each Commuter with a big Smile, shaking Hands and handing out brown grocery bags imprinted with: DO IT FOR CHICAGO – NO ONE HAS TO GO HUNGRY, ONE FOOD DRIVE. Inscripted on each Bag was this vital info:

OR
call: 773-247-FOOD

for a full list of Donation Locations. And, yes, for those wondering, the bag is a Sustainable Forestry Initiative – renewable, compostable and recyclable. Online at: www.sfiprogram.org

With Tummies filled & an Eco-Consciousness, it’s easy to see why Chicago rates as a major Cosmo & Metropolitan Center. Won’t U please do your part in filling in where Mayor Rahm left off?
