Chicago, IL USA: It's hard to believe it's already been a full year since I began writing this Blog. As most People say: "It just seems like yesterday!" 366 Yesterdays ago (at that) since 2008 was greeted by a Leap Day in late February. In Celebration of this Monumental Date that produced 114 Blogs covering a vast plethora of Pop Culture Concepts, the following Media Release is launched to address a Critical Issue that I've been developing for the last Three (3) Years. The Time is now ripe for its Kickoff.

A RETURN TO NATURE
IS IT ALREADY TOO LATE?
DATELINE: November 21, 2008
Chicago, IL USA: The Concept for FAUX FUR FRIDAYS ©2008 originally stemmed from an Outside Agent, GORF, hailed as ‘The Icon of the Green Movement’ and ‘Chicago’s First Green Mascot.’ As a robust 24.5” TOY FROG (after all, GORF is FROG back-words) with an infectious 11” Smile that stops People immediately in their Paths, THE FROG is currently not the only Species on the Endangered Species List that is becoming rarer as The Days transcend into History. As a Species that has outlived the Almighty Dinosaur, the Fragile FROG is 217,000,000 years old, yet it is Our Generation that is seeing their Demise - Extinction, the imminent Factor of erasing a Civilization.
‘THE GRIN REAPER ®’ (as I affectionately nicknamed GORF) stands as the Symbol for informing all Peoples that the Earth itself is a Living Species that is experiencing difficult Times presently with a Cloudy Forecast for the Times ahead. The Tables have now drastically turned, leaving The World suffering a great (never before encountered) Recession that hovers close to a Global Depression. LESS is becoming ‘The New MORE.’
No Front is being spared. Sadly, these Findings include LESS Species to study, learn and admire. Although it may sound sappy, as Partners on our Planet, The Animals, too, are suffering great, irreparable Losses. Extinction is F.O.R.E.V.E.R. Looking around us across the Earth, We find that:
Homes are in Foreclosure. Pets are turned away. Some Animals go to Shelters.
Many Shelters euthanize.
People are not eating. Pets are neglected. Populations are starving.
Zoos are downsizing. Animals are being neglected.
People are in heightened States of Stress and Anxiety.
This State is also being seen in the Animal Kingdom.
Landmasses are shrinking. Habitats are lost forever.
As Man himself struggles to survive under strange(r) and unexplainable Conditions, the extra Monetary Means (that is no longer available) to care for other Species (Household or Domesticated as well as Zoological & Natural Species) is abruptly cut-off or just no longer exists. This Action hastens their Breeds into Extinction (especially on this polluted Planet), combined with Global Warming and the ominous Effects it is having on their Habitat. The Glaciers & Icebergs are melting. The Rain Forests are being chopped down. Wild Forest Creatures (as Deer, Bears, Opossum & Raccoons) are seeking Refuge in Inner Cities where once they never roamed, looking for a Scrap to eat.
This Common Sense Knowledge has not been thoroughly explored or fully addressed yet by The Media, although Scientists know what is lurking ‘Outside’ our Comfort Zone. Being in a State of Denial never helps. Thinking this Complex Situation will disappear on its own is absurd.
GORF acts as a Wake-Up Call to immediately LEAP into Action in order to prevent more Desolation, Turmoil and Havoc.
As The Ball of Life unravels every Day in a Domino’s Effect, We are seeing The Aftermath of what Greed, Avarice & Waste have caused - not only for Man, but for The Animals and The Planet itself. We are all linked together. Moats & Castle Walls cannot keep Reality out or at bay. In Months from now, when Survival (for many) will equate to Food and a Roof over One's Head, then perhaps We will see The Evil of Our Ways. But that again, is yet another Topic to unearth.
HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED: In the meantime, to pass The Time and feel that We are being Good Samaritans, Servants or Stewarts of The Earth, taking the Time to help The Creatures is a fulfilling Way to ‘Give Back.’ Returning to an earlier and easier Era (before this unwieldy Worldly Crisis overtook us) is a creative, decisive and beneficial Course to put Life into Perspective. Life is for living healthily and wisely for all Earth’s Creatures, not just a Chosen Few.
THE KOOPERSMITHIAN PLAN: On Friday, January 28, 2005, I purchased GORF & launched a 10-Year Humanitarian Campaign called:

Re$ale Shopping is the Best Method I have discovered to SAVE THE GREEN & ‘GO GREEN’ all in One Convenient Stop, exercising One Fell Swoop. A Series of colorful PHOTOGORFS (GORF Images, that is) show ‘THE GRIN REAPER’ dressed in Leopard-Wear (lovely Leopard Regalia – however you prefer terming it), which is One of my most Favorite Pattern. A FROG Toy flamboyantly dressed in Leopard Spots? An Understanding between Felines and Amphibians. How adorable and delightful is that? This is The Message of Unity that needs to be spread.
Therefore, it only seems ‘natural’ that FAUX FUR FRIDAYS ©2005/2008 be extended as a Weekly Event since The Topic is ‘crucial and critical to The Survival of Our Planet’ – 'Home Sweet Home.'
In 2008, as 'The Records’ broadcasted that more Devastation (involving Nature & Economical) was occurring on The Planet, I shortened the HOLIDATE to FAUX FUR FRIDAYS’ FOLLIES ©2008. With the Influx of Interest rising, THE EVENT is taking on a Life of its very own! Mass Appeal fuelled by Action yields Beneficial Results that need to be cemented into Place.

International Skeptics Days ©1995 is an Eventological Event I created long ago that has pulled its own Weight throughout the Years since its definitive Formation 14 years ago. By just googling The Name, you can clearly see it has made an indelible Mark and Impression on those who are Skeptics, those who aren't and those really can't decide (yet). As Science progresses, the Levels and Degrees of Skepticism grows or shrinks. Like Politics, Change(s) take its own Course.
The Primary Reason International Skeptics Days ©1995 was designated as a Floating Holiday is because of its sheer nature alone. Its Standards pertain to every Day Occurrences.
Today (of all Days in the History of the USA), the Republic of America is voting for a New President and Executive Office like it has never voted before.
Logically, many People are skeptical of the Candidates and what the Future holds (or may not hold). Worse yet, as the Months ahead proceed and roll along, We have no clear-cut Idea what to expect from local, regional and foreign fronts, therefore, Degrees of Skepticism will mushroom as much as the Stress and Distress Levels Americans have escalate.
In anticipation of all this, it's therapeutic to have a Day - to recognize that We are all in this Situation knee-deep or deeper -- when you can take it all in stride. The Trouble with Change is that the Change may not do us any good.
Even before the Disasters America faces were not that bad 14 years ago when I pondered the Formation of International Skeptics Days ©1995, I realized that Politics do not make for great bedfellows:

Koopersmith's Great American Warm-Up #14: 2 Weeks and counting.
Chicago, IL USA:
As of today, there are only 2 weeks until my GREAT AMERICAN WARM-UP ©1995, one of more popular HOLIDATES takes place, clear across America for those who truly CARE. For those who are unaware of its purpose, it's very simple because Simplicity is Best and easier to carry out.
PURPOSE: Before the Winter officially sets in on December 21, take the time to clean-out your Closets, Drawers, Attics, Basements, Bureaus and under-the-bed (too) for (m)any Items you are no longer wearing. Folks, that means lifting items-off-Floors and reaching high-up on dusty Shelves. This Gear can range from coats to jackets to sweaters to socks to leg warmers to boots to scarves to hats to caps to insulated vests to long underwear.
THE EVENTOLOGICAL EXPLANATION BY ASK:
This Weekend (known as a Floating Holidate in (the Art & Act of) Eventology) is marked as the Hottest Month (in the Northern Hemisphere) - particularly the USA, even though Temperatures many times do not rise above 40 degrees. In accordance with my Meteorologic Logic, although Global Warming is at the other End of the Spectrum, November (also spelled as: NovemBURR) signals the beginning of shorter Days, a looming and long Cold Winter Season, Isolation and dismal days, where Life is rough & brutal. Many People become depressed because of the lack of sun and the aforementioned symptoms of what Winter symbolizes. Not everyone is a Snow-Bunny, Skier or Winter Advocate. But all this can be changed and The Change will have outstanding Benefits for all those who participate.
CHANGING PLACES NOW: THE 'IF' SYNDROME
However, it is much sadder IF you're cold during the Winter.
IF you are Homeless and do not have the proper clothing.
IF you are Poor and cannot afford a Winter Wear & Garb (ie: the proper Attire). Albeit, this does not evaluate the Consequences of GW: Global Warming although it does make a signficant change in our Climate. We are merely planning on keeping Others warm throughout The Winter Months in your Region.
By the same token, IF you are privileged to GIVE, I highly urge you to take the time to participate in:

Therefore, it's a given We Fortunate Ones have The Opportunity to give and give BIG, not alot, necessarily but out of the Goodness and Kindness of our Hearts.

The GREAT AMERICAN WARM-UP ©1995 (known as: GAWU) is the ideal Period to clean out those ABC: Attics, Bins & Closets and deliver (an Assortment of) Warm Clothes to homeless shelters, salvation army posts, shelters, etc. so that those needier-than-you can have something substantial and warm to wear when the Weather becomes severe.
Adrienne begins: "I launched this HOLIDATE in 1995 as an Act of Pure Kindness Americans of every Creed & Color can all participate in. Whether We give by donating a Pair of Mittens, a Wool Coat or a Plaid Scarf, it is an Article of Clothing that was delivered to Someone who just was not able to obtain it on his/her own. With an ailing Economy that is spinning out of control, even the most common of items are sometimes unattainable. This is (y)our Way of 'Giving Back.'"
The GAWU is a Cleansing - it's a Blessing. Who could "ASK" for more, especially when you never know what's in store...and behind that closet door!

The RedBall Project is cancelled for this Weekend, Folks.
SUBTITLE: How do you spell: B-U-M-M-E-R?
Chicago, IL USA: 'Soaked' is the Buzz Word for Today as I caught 3 Buses till I finally arrived at the Damen & North Avenue Stop for Day #7 of (the) RedBall Project: 2008, Chicago-style. I looked in all directions - high and low - as rain pelted me in the face. Looking more like a soggy version of (Ms.) Tammy Faye, I wiped back the droplets and stood on a corner bewildered.
I just could not spot The Ball, which is hard not to see since it is 250 pounds and 15 feet in diameter. And this would have been such a grand 'hood for it to be in as the Annual SmartArt Show was premiering on the Corner of North/Milwaukee/Damen. People could enjoy both Artistic Sites.
INSTINCT TAKES OVER: Knowing the trusty Chicago Public Library would give me 'My Answer' of where is it and why, I walked north on Milwaukee, past a Red Hen Bakery -- that, no doubt, was baking up Red Frosting Bismarks for the RBP Crew...and located a Library.
As I assumed, posted online by Kurt was the following Internet Notice:

ADRIENNE AGAIN: Happy that I found out what had happened, I was also saddened for all those in Texas and the surrounding States (straight up here to 'Sweet Home, Chicago,') who are suffering through this monstrous Storm and its after-effects.
The unmitigated Fact remains that it only shows how We are all interlinked, not only through DNA but Location. HI: Hurricane Ike may only be 900 miles south of Chicago, but we're feeling the Brunt & Thrust of its Effect here as viaducts and basements are flooded; O'Hare is at a standstill and businesses are losing their fair share of Saturday Shoppers.
It's acting more like a Friday, the 13TH than a Saturday, the 13TH by all means. The Weather got in the way again, but rest assured, Sunnier Days are bound to follow.

Kurt Perschke's RedBall Project: Butta Bing. Butta Ball.
Chicago, IL USA: Day 3 of visiting Kurt Perschke's Red Ball would be different than the First Two. The first would summon up the Question of:
What's it all about?
The Second Day's main comment would be:
How is the setting different than Day #2 and for Day #3: I decided to let the Interaction between the People take its due Course. And, there surely wasn't anything disappoint there...in the least, except for 1 minor Problem. It would have been 'nicer' if RB (as it is affectionately titled) were at the North Entrance of the Field Museum instead of its Southern Door. Last Summer the Cool Globes were strewn across the northern plot (of land) as it juttisons out nearer Lake Michigan and with a few of those Cool Globes still in place, the 'comparison' would have been noteworthy.
However, enough cannot be said about RB...in every setting that it is placed, it does make a Statement. Statement alone by just watching the People watch the Ball. People are not only 'People watchers...' they are definitely Big Ball Fan(atics).
MARK YOUR CALENDARS, FOLKS:
If there isn't one out now, there should be. And that phrase is: If you listen, you're bound to learn something. I overheard one of the Field Museum's Guards say tht the 2nd Monday of every Month is Target-Free Day. Imagine that! How cool is that gesture? Not only is Target sponsoring KURT's Latest Modern Art Exhibition, but for 12 times a year, Admission to this Museum has no charge. That would make anyone BLUSH 'red.'
In keeping with my last 2 Blogs on this PAD: Public Art Display, I'll list comments heard, no matter how absurd -- as everyone has a comment. Not everyone is an Artist (destined to interact with others both near and afar); an Art Aficionado; an Art Collector or even a mild mannered Art Purveyor, everyone has their own Opinion on what grabs their attention.
Consistently, for the last 3 days I've viewed 'RB,' it amazes me by the number of People (both tweens and adults) who punch and kick 'The Ball.' When I asked Kurt:
'Why do People punch and kick your ball?" his response was: 'Cuz it feels playful to them.'
My cat and dog feel playful to me, too, but I don't punch and kick them. Perhaps this Question should be posed to Doctors at Psychology Magazine some day...as it still baffles me. I suppose The Artist, Kurt does have a substantial reason there. People to 'kick and toss around' Volleyballs and they slam baseballs and kick footballs, but this is a MegaBall...what if it someone gained a Life of its own and started rolling..., down the 22 steps of the Field Museum; across the lot and neared Soldier's Field.
I posed this Question to Kurt also. "If the ball got away," I hypothetically asked him: "What would happen?"
'It would roll,' he commented.
Good Answer...but if it neared the Lake, Lake Michigan (or as many of my non-geogragraphically inclined Friends call it): The Michigan Ocean...
Would it float?
"And what would happen if the Ball got away?" I asked KP.
"It would keep on rolling," he smiled.
On my bike trip to the Field Museum (some 10.5 miles) I was given a Pink Balloon that I used as 'Size Comparison' while shooting some Photos of RB: Red Ball. Unfortunately, it was not fastened too tightly to my purse and 'took off' in a blast of wind that set it loose, but for the time I had it, the Differences in Size were substantial. It proved the old Proverb: To grab attention you have to be Big. Would the Color make a difference? Red does capture a person's eye. And, somewhere in my Education, I heard that Red is one of the few Colors that even the Color Blind can see. It has a built-in Audience that money cannot buy. Do look up that Fact tho as I've never used it before in any of my Writings and I may be wrong there...
Another Question I asked Kurt as I climbed the Steps of the So-Ex (SO-uthern EX-posure) of the Field Museum this Morning after examining how the Ball was 'scrunched' between 2 pillars dealt with the 'wrinkles' in its Skin, due to the 'way' it was enclosed.
Stronger than ever, it did not look as it if would budge. Kurt was nearby and said it was the same material Rafts are composed of. This made perfect sense to me, although I've never gone White River Rafting - or in this case, Red River Rafting.
My visit began around 11:30 AM and lasted till 1:45 PM, approximately. During that time, only one little Boy asked: "Can I touch it?" Since the child was within ear-shot, I responded to his question which seemed to be directed to no one in particular: 'You sure can! You can even punch it, if you like.' He had Carte Blanche -- or should we say:
Carte Rouge
to have a 'Ball with The Ball.' From the Mouths of Babes, Politeness can flow.
To keep consistent with my First Two Blogs, I should really number a few of these Notes in case I want to return to them and elaborate more in the weeks to come.
1. A nice Testimonial I overheard was given by one of the Male Guards at the Field Museum said: "It's not just a Ball!" when a Tourist ambled up the steps.
2. With the Positioning of RB on the Steps of the Southern Entrance to the Field Museum, you can't but feel you're in the Rocky Movie when 'Rock' dashes up the Philadelphia Steps. Sometimes, you just can't get away from those Flashbacks.
3. Everyone carries a camera these days. You needn't be a Tourist to have one. It needn't even been a high-end digital. This Ball-Art is photographed more than Madonna and Britney are combined.
4. To get an idea of its Size, bring a few red tops you may have at home. Examples would be your Folgers Coffee top; a Red Checker and perhaps a Red Frisbee. Stand a few levels below the ball and aim your camera at the Ball, while holding your Prop. Monique (of the RedBall Project) says the size will look the Same because of the Perspective. It makes for a cool Photo(graph) and definitely something School Teachers may like to explain to their Students.
5. Has anyone ever gotten married under The Ball?
6. Have Birds (like the SeaGulls) who beg for tidbits landed on the Sphere?
7. It's a Big Red Ball. Did anyone ever think it should be placed (in comparison to) our 'Big Bat' Sculpture located in the West Loop? That definitely would be 'of interest' or even placed in the Center of Wrigley Field (on Clark & Addison). There are so many more Places it could be placed; no doubt it will have to return to complete these...
8. The 4 Reasons (not neccessarily 'the Professionals') but mine on why Kurt Perschke's RedBall Project is such a draw is that it:
a) radiates Energy;
b) links People to a common object; and
c) has a diversity to it since Balls have multitudes of meanings and possibilities in all industries.
d) transforms an area and thereby transforms the Viewer's Impression of what it is; what it was and what it will be (after it leaves).
Yup, you do learn alot if you sit, stare and listen to what People have to say, on a beautiful Saturday Morning 'n Afternoon. You learn about Art. You learn about Human Nature. You learn about Nature. You learn about Life. I suppose somebody could write a Book now entitled:
Everything I ever learned, I learned from the RedBall Project.
And, that's 'Write-on-Target.'
FINAL FUN REMARKS: It's the Weekend in Chicago. The first one for September. The official September Autumn Art Season successfully kicked off in River North & River West on Friday Night. The Red Ball Public Art Expo is thrilling People. Many are not even aware of its 'Travels,' but get The Surprise that it lends itself to, when 'they' walk around a Corner and VOILA: There's The Ball in all its Splendor & Glory. Why leave Chicago when 'RB' is in town? Maybe it will find a permanent Home at the Field Museum after September 25!

ART Receptions always sizzle no matter what the prevailing climate is like. However, when a Show registers as 'spontaneous' and means there's not too much Time left to devote to it, Time is precious and indeed 'of The Essence.' Therefore, it's time to abide by 'The CODE'. By undertaking a few logical Steps while doing One's Artistry (no matter what that Talent may be): You, too, can hold a Reception in 3 weeks OR less with surprising Results.
The Abbreviation for CODE stands for:
C = to Concentrate
O = to Organize
D = to Design
E = to Expose
Keeping these 4 Pointers in the front of your mind is a sure-fire Way + a Catalyst to make sure that every Day (before the Program takes place), certain Pivotal Points are met. Lists also help in undertaking 'THE CODE.'
After The CODE is met and the Event is over, take full advantage of Follow-Up Follow-Up is just as important as The Event because then, certain Issues can be addressed that were overheard and spoken about during The Event that may not have been referenced before. During Follow-Up, all those smaller Parts can be ironed out and fixed; thus making The Project a likely success and a Point to build further upon. The Challenge has been met. Part 2 is ready to work.

Chicago, Illinois USA: Is it mere Coincidence or does it really prove that Ancient Astronauts once inhabited The Earth when We discover (via a Google Search, of course) that THE PEACE SIGN originally appeared in 1958. By doing ‘THE MATH,’ it’s calculated that that Event was 50 Years ago, now that We are well into 2008. This is, indeed, a Milestone Anniversary to celebrate, far-and-wide.
THE PEACE SIGN was designed to represent The Shape of a World War II Bomber, stylized and simple enough for anyone to draw and easily recognizable by The Masses as a non-Violence Logo. That Impression called THE PEACE SIGN has been used extensively by Social Groups, Nuclear Disarmament Factions, Civil Rights’ Activists, Apartheid/War Protesters and Marketing Centers for Decades now. With Respect to its Designer, THE PEACE SIGN is attributed to:
GERALD HERBERT HOLTOM
(born between 1914-18 and dying in September, 1985) who was a Professional Designer and Graduate of the London Royal College of Arts. Later, as a Member of the CND Movement, he designed the Badge of The Direct Action Committee Against Nuclear War that was originally utilized for the First Demonstration against a British Research Center for The Development of Nuclear Weapons, called Aldermaston. THE PEACE SIGN’s Debut occurred during the Weekend of Easter in 1958.
As highly recognizable as THE PEACE SIGN is, its Message is still not utilized enough as seen and exemplified by The Wars Man wages, The Lives We lose and The Spirits shattered. Yet, when We see THE PEACE SIGN, We instantly know a Message of Acceptance and Tranquility are there to be reckoned with – even if it means for only a few Minutes – or only in thinking, pondering and contemplating what Life would be like if Total PEACE covered, blanketed and consumed The Planet.
AN IDEA WHOSE TIME HAS COME:
In January, 2006 when One-Ounce Postage Stamps were 39 Cents each, a Stamp was issued with a Yellow Ribbon wrapped around THE PEACE SIGN. Taking that Symbolism One Step further, I now ask:
Are there enough People ‘out there’ willing to write or email a Letter or Note to the USPS (United States Post Office) asking them to re-create a new PEACE SIGN Stamp utilized as their popular Forever Stamp?
“Because these Stamps are ‘good forever’ the Symbolism for PEACE could be expressed and embedded much more emphatically,” I believe.

By doing ‘THE MATH,’ it’s calculated that that Event was 50 Years ago, now that We are well into 2008. This is, indeed, a Milestone Anniversary to celebrate, far-and-wide.
THE PEACE SIGN was designed to represent The Shape of a World War II Bomber, stylized and simple enough for anyone to draw and easily recognizable by The Masses as a non-Violence Logo. That Impression called THE PEACE SIGN has been used extensively by Social Groups, Nuclear Disarmament Factions, Civil Rights’ Activists, Apartheid/War Protesters and Marketing Centers for Decades now. With Respect to its Designer, THE PEACE SIGN is attributed to:
GERALD HERBERT HOLTOM
(born between 1914-18 and dying in September, 1985) who was a Professional Designer and Graduate of the London Royal College of Arts. Later, as a Member of the CND Movement, he designed the Badge of The Direct Action Committee Against Nuclear War that was originally utilized for the First Demonstration against a British Research Center for The Development of Nuclear Weapons, called Aldermaston. THE PEACE SIGN’s Debut occurred during the Weekend of Easter in 1958.
As highly recognizable as THE PEACE SIGN is, its Message is still not utilized enough as seen and exemplified by The Wars Man wages, The Lives We lose and The Spirits shattered. Chicago, IL: In 1994 when I conceptualized NATIONAL SPLURGE DAY ©1994, as one of my HOLIDATES TO CELEBRATE, the Thesis was that it was well over 2 months since Americans received their Tax Returns. Why not go out and splurge with this added Bonus. After all, you deserve(d) it. The Equinox would be arriving in 3 short Days and the Summer Season would be in Hot Pursuit on a variety of Fronts & ForeFronts.
A lot has occured in 14 years, to say the least. Of which, rising prices in every sphere have made Life (to the Common Man) literally and physically impossible to 'splurge with the same success rate' that he/she/they and/or I have been able to do in The 1990s and early 21ST Century.
However, there's no time like The Present. NATIONAL SPLURGE DAY ©1994 is celebrated every June 18TH. This is not to say that Prices will be escalated moreso in 2022 (in another 14 Years) but for the Principals of the Original NSD Documentation, the Urge to Splurge is as FUN-damental as they come.
Contest Winners of the NATIONAL SPLURGE DAY: 2008 Sweepstakes will be meeting at Oak Street Beach on Wednesday at Noon, at which time We will be 'splurging up a storm' by tackling The One Mag Mile during the Afternoon. After all, into everyone's life a Splurge should occur. And, there's no need to take off the tags. Things are returnable, you know. Film is forever.

that fall into 35 precise Categories. HOLIDATES are then defined as: Goodwill, Humanitarian, Altruistic, Educational, Recreational, Spiritual, Fun-time and Fun-type Holidays or Events, therefore, the Art, Craft, Science and Philosophy of EVENTOLOGY is born.
Date of Original was: Wednesday, July 25, 1990 at 9:45 PM.
Over 3,000 Interviews have been given via Radio by founder/creator: ADRIENNE SIOUX KOOPERSMITH since she began this new Literary Form/Format. She also has had Articles written up on EVENTOLOGY in an extensive Array of the top 250 USA newspapers/magazines. Select HOLIDATES are found on Internet Websites.
400 of these deal with and focus on the Consumption of FOOD and how to eat wisely and healthily. Aptly named EAT-Vents ®. ASK's EAT-Vent-O-Pedia was published in 1998. A year before her award-winning EVENT-O-PEDIA was issued.
