SKiN ©2009: The Script, The Book & The Odyssey: The May 31, 2009 Segment. The Closing Edition for May, 2009.

Chicago, IL USA

Today marks the Final in a Series explaining more about:

SKiN (C)

that will be fully completed as of Monday, June 1, 2009. What is of noticeable accord is not only can a book be written within the course of 4 full months if one sets their mind & SKiN to it, but it is actually the Rewrites that count the most. This is one of the Facets that happens when a person is not only a perfectionist, but they enjoy seeing what they meant when undergoing the Process of writing and getting the Message out there.

The Eventological Designation of Merry Marketing Month of May, 2009 is a Time of getting the most accomplished as it has been and should be undertaken by all of those who need a great read for the(ir) Summer.

SKiN ©2009: The Script, The Book & The Odyssey: The May 30, 2009 Segment

Chicago, IL USA

If you are reading a Cookbook, you know what its theme is. If you're checking out a HOW TO book, you pretty much know you're going to figure out HOW something is done. However, if you pick up a title of any Fiction or Frictional Book, the Titles are misleading. That's why Artists and Illustrators come in so handy to define what is within those Covers. However, once inside and reading what the Author is saying, something 'the good part' doesn't get till the last Chapter. That may cause many Readers to read the finale first in order to see if the Beginning and Middle of the Book lead up to the correct ending.
However #2 is that it's a challenge to throw-off your Reader. I've done this on many occasion - just to keep them on their toes. The following Topics are all found in SKiN: How 10 Beloved Plush Toys Redefine Race:
1) Muddled Thinking is worse than not thinking.
2) Double Standards exist between Humans and Animals.
3) Man is proof that Evolution is slipping.
4) Record your Stories for Future Generations to behold (as well as yourself for a rainy day).
5) It is not WHAT you see, it'sWHO you see. Actions are not 'The Soul of Man, only a Trigger to get to their Past and through their Troubled Perception of their Environment, one flooded in Misconceptions and Mixed Signals.

With SKiNcerity being the highest form of flattery, especiall for an author, it's nice to be able to complete a project, for as we all know, once one is done, another one -- or another portion of it, is up next, which is the case of SKiN...as it meets head-on its deadline of May 29, 2009 which is the 4th Month Anniversary Date of its Conception.

Memorial Day of 2008 fell on May 29TH that allowed me The Opportunity to buy a new Bike. Although the Celebration falls 4 Days earlier this year, I did succeed in My Goal of reaching 2000 Miles as of Today:

Monday, May 25, 2009 - at 8:52 AM at 4051 North Broadway.

The last Mile was most enjoyable from the stretch of 4925 North Broadway to 4051 as it was early morning; most people were on still asleep or ought of town and the day was young. I passed stores that were closed; some closed down due to our hard economic times; past gardens; stop signs; boarded buildings; and all the characteristic things that make city life an exciting trip.

Another exciting Trip for me beside the Physicalities of getting Exercise in The SKiN I'm in was The Fact that I completed the Last Insert of The Script. May 29th will be the 4th Month Anniversary of SKiN's Inception and will be marketed from June 1, 2009 on.

For those seeking an Electronic Copy of SKiN, the Cost will be $30.00. For those wishing to begin Collecting the Original ART Work, every Month a new Illustration will be released to those who become Members of SKiN's Fan Club. Details will be available in KOOPERSMITHin as of June 5, 2009.

"Be proud of the SKiN you're in. You're in IT for Life."

SKiN ©2009: The Script, The Book & The Odyssey: The May 24, 2009 Segment

Chicago, IL USA

A recent news report emanating from Chicago told sun worshipers that their time on the beaches would be shortened because of few life-guards being hired this summer due to city cut-backs and an ailing economy. What better way is there, however, than to go out on the beaches, relax, lay in the sand (properly covered by sun-screen, of course) and perhaps play a few rounds of volleyball with team members. That is a clear cut way to cut tension and stress. However, with the beaches closing early, this will take its toll on People -- which is extremely sad since Water Therapy that the Sun & Lake offer cannot be replaced.
Skin, of course, is more than a layer of Skin, it's a way to run a life that is invigorating and healthy. Any cut-backs you do to your Skin -- Skin Abuse -- has its hazardous side-affects -- called Defects. Know what they are and use the right Precautions as the Summer of 2009 and the first Kick-off Holiday, Memorial Day Weekend is upon us.

Most People have taken off - they've packed up the cars, the kids, the pets and have embarked on the first official Summer Weekend of the Year -- Memorial Day. Last night while watching Charlie Gibson on ABC National TV - Channel 7, they were honoring (and it was a great choice)one of the oldest Men living -- a World War I Veteran --was celebrating his 108TH Birthday as well as this Holiday. He is the last living War Veteran to be a survivor. He's been through alot. He's seen many friends come and go. For occasions like this, we think about the ones - we've known -- who have come and went; either for good or for shorter periods of time in the Skins that they are in. Being a survivor in the Skin you're in is what SKiN, my Manuscript is all about...for all Seasons and Men.

SKiN ©2009: The Script, The Book & The Odyssey: The May 22, 2009 Segment

Chicago, IL USA

Friday arrives (again) for the 21ST official Faux Fur Fridays. And with Weather playing in and along to this Eventological Holidate, the Temps here in Chicagoland make us wear our coats -- so that our Faux Fur Jackets from months ago can still be worn. If and when (which is the prevailing Question) the Weather does warm up, every Animal Print and Faux Fur Apparel can still be worn.
This week, we examined how Lewis Carroll's Alice In Wonderland (from 1865) and SKiN (my Script from 2009) matched up in various ways. After 144 years, it's interesting to note that leading Topics are still of interest as Story Lines although all Authors do digress. That's what makes us Story Writers and Story Tellers. Both Pieces used Animals in order to stress their Point(s) and used in Conversations to convey the meaning that was interchanged. Of course, Man really does not know what the Animals are saying but can only 'assume' by the Interactions We play with them and have observed and subsequently recorded.
It's hard enough to know what Members of our own Family -- our own Skins -- mean let alone another Species; however, adhering to the Principles laid out by the Golden Rule works each and every Time.

35 years ago today, I graduated from Washington University, Magna Cum Laude and was in a totally different Skin that I am in today. That's of course, because most of us Species 'do shed.' However, it's also a state of mind as to what Skin a person chooses to be in. Today, I don't even feel 35...or even 53, although I am past those 2 figures (while still retaining one) by 3 years.

For the actual compositionary format of SKiN, The Mansucript, I used loads of:

Humor (of course). If it's not funny, it doesn't get typed

Word Play

Remedies to Racism and Prejudice

Embedded Fables as the Story about Petit Oreilles that will delight audiences of all ages

Poetry

Haiku...altho mine was 18 syllables and not the customary 17, breaking a few Literary Laws to keep the Copy flowing as it should.

Postulates on how Nature 'leaves' (pun intended)

Puns, of course for those shrewd enough to figure them out

The Understanding of Sets of Pertinent Themes that have been described to you the last few days

Fairy Tale Embedment and

The most discussed Human Interest Topic (ever): Skin...

SKiN ©2009: The Script, The Book & The Odyssey: The May 20, 2009 Segment

Chicago, IL USA

The Reason why so many Writers pen so many Books and use Blogs to promote them is that it is an easy method in which to go back and rewrite Parts that can be enhanced for future Printings. I really did not realize how convenient that can be until yesterday Morning. I received an email from a Friend in the United Kingdom who has had quite a few Books published and he suggested I write up a 1 Page Synopsis defining SKiN's Plot and Characterization. I had done this in the 11-Page Intro of SKiN (The Manuscript), but with how he worded it, this gave me the Chance to go back and re-examine each Character -- TOY to see how they fit in with what the Message is. 912 Words later, I am now the owner of a 4 page manuscript that explains much more than is obviously seen on the Skin Level.
However, as I was divulging inMonday's Blog, there are some 44 Messages or Themes wrapped up in SKiN and the 2nd Set includes these:

11) (Explaining) why Things happpen as they do.

12) Humans are RACE-ing fast and furiously towards Extinction.

13) Know your Dictionary should be a pre-requisite to graduating from High School & College.

14) Counting on yourself and not letting yourself down is the Greatest Gift you can give yourself.

15) Endurance is the Dance of Life.

16) Animals counsel Man in the Error of his Ways.

17) Change is a permanet and constant Reminder that the Past is but a Memory Cell away.

18) Change is 'The Evolution' Humans need to keep up with their Current Inventions that consistently change.

19) It's not WHAT you see, it's WHO you see. Actions are not 'The Soul of Man, only a Trigger to getpast and through their troubled Perception of their Environment.

20) Record your Stories for current and future Generations to behold.

21-44 will be outlined in a later Issue of of KOOPERSMITHin.

SKiN ©2009: The Script, The Book & The Odyssey: The May 19, 2009 Segment

Chicago, IL USA

Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About THE CHARACTOYS ® IN SKiN ©2009& Was Not Afraid to ASK.

Not only does SKiN ©2009 deal with removing and dispelling RACISM by focusing on ‘The Skin’ you are in, but its Themes (44 that are Multi-Level in Nature) crossover to cover Topics as important as:

Ecology/Conservation/The Environment via The Green Movement

Self-Worth

Responsibility

Pride vs. Prejudice

Language

Humanity &

Creativity

Furthermore, 5 (or 50%) of THE TOYS were purchased at Re$ale Stores. Therefore, TOYS (once discarded) were recycled; Money $aved, thus reducing ‘Excess;’ and Valuable Lessons in Budgeting were instilled besides knowing that many of these Priceless and Precious Species are on The National Registry of Endangered Species, a Concept Man must alleviate Today in order to SAVE OUR PLANET, our only Home, Selves and The Creatures We live and share a Space (with).

The pre-eminent Message that SKiN ©2009 relays is that The Reader immediately feels a Direct and Personal Connection with his Fellow Man (as detailed through the Dialog & Conversation THE TROUPE holds within The Corridors of ‘The Vault’) defined as ‘Another Dimension.’ That former ‘Feeling of Indifference’ is expunged.

No other Writing on Record to date conveys this Tone & Tenor.

Let’s now explore more about The Characters who make this all possible and The Roles they play. Many of these TOYS are no l-o-n-g-er on The Marketplace, registering them as bona fide ‘Collectibles’ now and may not be available for Purchase until SKiN ©2009 is fully produced and released as a Book and FILM at which time they can be reissued.

ENTER: THE FINE ART OF PHOTOGRAPHY:

The Pictorials used in THE PROTOTYPE BOOK the Final Product (that currently needs a Publisher and/or Start-Up Capital to self-publish as well as an internationally acclaimed Movie Producer/Director as of Friday, May 15, 2009) are Photographs I have personally taken to fully enhance The Message that THE CHARACTOYS are conveying. By producing and/or publishing SKiN (as a BOOK, Movie/CARTOON/Performance Piece/Broadway Play, etc.), a Resurgence & Re-Issuing of these attractive TOYS

(and what they represent to reducing Endangered Species;

eliminating Extinction and the present ‘Crysis’ facing Planet Earth)

can be entirely addressed and ignited in one brilliantly completed and enduring Project, a Project that touches us all and colors The World for Future Generations.

If not (for) you to perpetuate and continue this Momentum, who else is there?

IT is every Human’s Responsibility to be the Best Stewart he/she can be for The Earth.

Furthermore, IT should not be forgotten that: The Benefits of Living in a Healthy SKiN (as this Novella implies) are too numerous to cite in such a s-h-o-r-t 534-Word Passage (as this) and by caring for your SKiN (from the Physical to the Spiritual to the Emotional) that you are in, your L-O-N-G-evity will be guaranteed.

SKiN ©2009: The Script, The Book & The Odyssey: The May 18, 2009 Segment

Chicago, IL USA

The Reason why so many Writers pen so many Books is that they keep only a few Themes in each Story Line. However, since there are some Literary Masterpieces that span Topics that are too heavy and diverse that only 2-3 Themes, it is allowable to write a Novella (of 35,000-55,000 words) that instills Ideas, Concepts and Philosophies that can definitely reach out and touch people in an assortment of ways.

That way, when I speak about SKiN, it can be an extensive talk because there are 44 prevailing Themes that stretch out over The Attitudes and Aptitudes of 10 Characters.

A Quarter (or 25%) Themes (that can be discussed with Students and Reading/Writer's Groups) besides the 2 major ones of:

Mixed Signals & What Matters are:

1) Flexibility means you can rock n roll with what Nature doles out and gives you.

2) Variety is the Spice of Life.

3) Appreciate the Here/Hear & Now instead of yearning for the 'Unknown, Unfamiliar, Impossible & UnNecessary

4) Be happy with the Skin you are in.

5) The Conclusive Findings again bond Humans together as Brothers, not Opponents.

6) How can there be so many Skin Types when all are basically The Same?

7) It's who drives the Fastest Cars or the Second Hand Beaters in the Humans' World. Humans have made their Life a Race, eithout even using Vehicles.

8) Do Humans 'stretch The Truth' and nothing but 'The Truth' a bit too far and too freely?

9) What really matters (as a Tribe of similar Creatures) and not a Race.

10) Ignorance is not Bliss. Maybe it's a Mutant Gene at work here in these Humans - a dominating Gene called 'Greed.'

11-44 will be outlined in a later Issue of of KOOPERSMITHin.

As many of us are airing out our Skins for the most lovely May Day, there are a number of ways we can get exercise without feeling that it's hard work. After all, for healthy Skin -- no matter what age a person is, it's important to keep in shape and weekends are an ideal time to do this with family and friends. Running, Biking, Jogging and even Skipping are healthy ways in which to get Vitamin D, sunshine and fresh air.

Only 30 minutes a day is needed to keep physically fit. This can be broken up into an assortment of sports and/or actions. The calorie intake after exercising for a week is great, as we can see from the graph below:

Running: 150 calories per hour
Swimming: 200 calories per hour
Walking: 125 calories per hour
Biking: 100 calories per hour

Some of us would rather be Couch or Bed Potatoes in the Skin we are in, but once the Exercise is begun , it is so refreshing, you will look forward to doing it, mark my words.

For those who are into the Green Movement as I had mentioned yesterday, even cleaning up our Environment is a healthy workout -- for you and for the parks that you may be de-littering. Think about it: The ground we walk on is really Nature's Skin - keep it healthy and you, too will be fit as a fiddle.

Green Fest is in town today - the 2nd of many that has taken over the nation and hopefully, all over the world in the years to come. As Founder, Kevin Danaher explained in the keynote speech, if we are to be in this Recession/Depression for 10 years -- what will get us out of it is the Green Movement. My take on that is that, IT will take the Idea of Excess to finally settle into the masses so that they realize that by recycling, conserving and limiting one's excesses is the only way to lead life. A good green life that respects the Earth and does not exploit it.

Every year, I attend the Green Fest. With my grandfather being a scrap dealer in the 20s-60's, it wasn't hard for me to be taught in this genre of living. After all, for all creatures to exist in the SKiN they are in, they have to limit the quantities that (at one time) seemed to be endless resources. The Green Movement is exciting and one in which every one can participate in. After all, we all should be responsible -- not only to our Families and Communities in which we live but in being a good Stewart to and towards the Planet.

Check out the following websites (that I will provide for you in the days to come) to learn more about how you can go green.

THE IDES OF MAY: According to The Calendar, Today is the 20TH Celebration of Faux Fur Fridays for 2009, the Year of The Event that hopes to instill the love of FAUX FUX all the more into Individuals so that Animals are not harmed or killed for their Pelts. With so many beautifully created Faux Fur Products on the open market place that are designed and distributed across the world, they can be worn year-round in cottons, silks, polyesters and lighter materials. After all, they are the Skins of Animals. That's the bottom line that always bears stressing.
Furthermore, as many of us are health fans (not necessarily) Fanatics, the Season is now ripe and at hand (and feet) to bike. Yesterday, I am so proud to say that I cleared 1,900 miles on my latest Street Bike. My Aim is now to slot in 100 more since May 29TH is my First Year Anniversary and I cannot think of a better way to celebrate that Mark.
Biking is one of the easiest Ways to stay healthy in the Skin you are in. Even coasting is invigorating. Not only does Biking tone a person up and is beneficial in that stance, but just think what you are doing for The Environment. It's a win-win situation for all of us, no matter what Skin Shade we're in. Breathing better is better for each of us.

SKiN ©2009: The Script, The Book & The Odyssey: The May 14, 2009 Segment

Chicago, IL USA

In yesterday's Blog about Alice in Wonderland, I realized there were direct Connections between Alice's Lost Dimension and the one in whichmy Characters - aka: 'THE TROUPE' in

SKiN
How 10 Plush Toys Redefine Race ©2009

explores. Today in order to pinpoint where that Cross-Over Potential lies, I'll list several of The Similarities between the 2 Texts, which would make for ideal Discussion Material for University Literature Classes and Book Clubs.

Alice & SKiN both employ: Rabbits, Rats, Cats, Turtles and Owls, popular Creatures as they are.

Both Lewis & I are fascinated by: An explosion of Sizes of Creatures. Alice becomes both BIG and small. SKiN refers to the Age of the Great Dinosaur; as well as Time Annals; Man's Lack of Disciplines; focusing on Will Power and Creativity that all The Characters 'do' in both texts. The One of my Characters in SKiN possessesthe Naivety and Innocence of Youth to counter-balance the 9 other Creatures older, more mature and ripened personalities.

Both Lewis & I use 'Lessons' in our Texts and are both fond of finding Morals in every Day Objects. I actually assigned a New Word as of Sunday, May 10, 2009 @ 6:15 PM: Moralice (as in Moral + Alice) for this Literary Feature.

Similarities also arise with his 'Mock Turtle' and my Turtle & Saber Tooth Cat Paragraph found in Scene 15.

Lewis' White Rabbit is comparable to my Petite Oreilles Soliloquy found in Scene 13.

Lewis and I both use non-sense poetry in our Writings (that, by the way, makes perfect sense to me).

Similarities also arise with the Age Issue that Alice & The Troupe discovered while in their respective Worlds.

Both Lewis & I have a great dislike for the word: IT that follows consistently through The Text.

'Prizes' seem to appear from Time to Time in Alice; whereby the Prize in SKiN is buried in their Souls.

In one of Alice's Chapters, Lewis chose the Letter 'M' to elaborate - whereby I chose the Letter 'P' in One of my Inserts.

Beyond The Plot of The Story, is the Fact that Lewis Carroll cared enough for someone to write a Story; whereby my Emphasis is aimed towards Compassion and Respect towards the Animal Kingdom and Nature (instead of One Singular Person as the Theme). After all, "IT does take a Village."

Similarities also arise with the vast Amount of Puns and Wordplay We both banter (about).

All of The Characters are methodically and systematically (with a slight strain of Strategy) placed to explain an Issue that pesters the Author. By using Animals in lieu of People, it's much easier to see the Foibles, Frailties, Faults, Failures and Flaws (thus Frustrations) of their Ways. Hope for Improvement may come about because of this. And, if not, it's a nice Story to read and absorb.

There are only so many Topics in the World to cover when it comes to Writing, Painting or any of The Arts. Each Writer/Author has their own Style. That's what makes reading one of the best Past-Times known to Man...where one can't go wrong...even when exploring other Worlds. As the Decades and Centuries come and go, Fine Literature, as We have seen and read here: STAYS.

SKiN ©2009: The Script, The Book & The Odyssey: The May 13, 2009 Segment

Chicago, IL USA

After reading the Last Chapter of SKiN (that I was using to generate Reaction and Interest), a Friend asked me if I had read:

Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll.

As a Kid growing up, I somehow missed reading 'Alice' (altough I heard, danced and really liked Gracey Slick's White Rabbit Audio Rendition in the 1960s, a Take-Off of the Book). As I recall, the Text was required reading in many School Districts. Since I 'take all Conversations' as hidden Messages for Forward (and 'For Word') Movement and because the Suggestion came from Someone 'in the know,' I decided to take time-out and read the Classic. Today I completed it!

I had found an exquisitely illustrated Version of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Scott McKowen of Punch & Judy, Inc. done in Scratchboard (an Engraving Medium) of 'The Story' at my Public Library that was published in 2005 by Sterling Publishers Co., Inc., in New York City, a Subsidiary of Barnes & Noble, The Booksellers. The updated Volume would have made Lewis himself smile indeed.

After reading (only the first 30 pages), I found Lewis Carroll's Message was uncanny, if not rather spooky, as his Composition of 144 years ago (having been released in 1865 - the year the Civil War ended) reflected many of the Issues Alice faced while she explored another Dimension - known as Wonderland, that my Characters experienced in their Travels through SKiN.

We all realize that Imagination is a terrible Thing to waste, yet most of the Imagination 'out there' never sees the Light of Day or the Rewards of a Paycheck. Reading a Book that carries you away to another World is an enjoyable Escapade. What made me think outside The Covers of The Books, besides the obvious Similarities to SKiN (of 2009) compared to Alice in Wonderland (of 1865) was how The Script was written for the Benefit of Lewi's Friend, Alice...so she would find Enjoyment in the Story that featured her as the Leading Star.

Cross-Over Potential (which is popular in Music) can also carry over throughout The Decades and Centuries in Fine Literature, as we have seen and read here.

Beyond The Plot of The Story, is the Fact that Lewis Carroll cared enough for someone to write a Story. What an Honor & Tribute. Beyond that 'Storyline' in and of itself is that this Story has Lasting Power that has carried it on beyond the 1900 and 2000 Year Marks to reap Entertainment and Enjoyment on to Future Generations. Now, that is indeed the Essence of Great Literature.

Just maybe while I am writing up the Cliff Note Version of SKiN, I will combine Wonderland with SKiN's Secret Worlds to keep the Imagination and Spirit alive.

In tomorrow's Excerpts of SKiN, the Theme is to list The Main Similarities between these 2 Writings.

SKiN ©2009: The Script, The Book & The Odyssey: The May 12, 2009 Segment

Chicago, IL USA

New Skin (also known as: Bodies, People and Students expressing fresh, innovative Ideas and unbridled NRG: Energy) will be entering the Work Force this Month upon Graduation from Universities across The World. Speakers will be encouraging them to pursue their Dreams and to make them into Realities via 'The Skin' they are in, if I may use my own Terminology and say-so here.

At Duke University's Commencement in Durham, North Carolina on Sunday, May 10, 2009, Ms. Oprah Winfrey was the Featured Speaker. She beckoned the new Graduates (4,400 of them) to stand in their own Shoes. Not to critique Ms. Winfrey and the Good Work she aims to do, but (as I see it), Oprah's Theme of:

"standing TALL in their own Shoes"

would have been better versed by saying:

Stand proud in your own Skin.

After all, Racism, Segregation and Hatred still exist in Today's World. There are Societies 'out there' where being Barefoot' is the(ir) Norm. Shoes are not used in their Life and, quite basically, Shoes are highly discriminating to the discerning and observant Person. Designer Stiletto Heels at $700 a pair (or $350 per Foot) is much different than pay less Shoes for $12 a Pair (or $6 a Foot) or those gotten for FREE from a Homeless Shelter's or Church's Clothes Closet. It's those Free Shoes that may be all the more Motivating to its Wearer. If you don't believe me, just spot a Homeless Man in the January Cold riding on an elevated train with only socks on, covered in plastic bags. That will change your Mind for certain as to the price or worth of any Product.

"If Clothes make the Man, then surely Shoes make 'The Woman,'" is the Battle Cry of many Shop-a-Holics (or should I say: Shoe-a-Holics?) to be thematically in-the-know.

"People can and should be proud if they are wearing expensive, cheap, free or no Shoes at all. It is a State of Mind and Confidence that even covers our Feet."

Shoes are also a troubling Analogy because they are a Commodity and man-made. Skin is an integral Part of each Person that binds us, not an External Product that can be worn and thrown out as Shoes are, if they suddenly go out of style or become worn out or merely unserviceable.

Shoes (as an outside manufactured Man-Made Commodity) really have nothing to do with Pride and Future Success. Taking full stock in yourself -- in your own Skin Color, Tone & Size will work each Time knowing that the Changes that you may need to make are part of your Growth Process. Hopefully, Imelda Marcos was listening.

Think Skin and all it entails.

I know and you know 'WHAT' Oprah means. She means well in the Grand Scheme, whether she's in Bedroom Slippers or Manolo Blahnik's.

"Motivation begins with The Skin you are in and continues every Day thereafter."

SKiN ©2009: The Script, The Book & The Odyssey: The May 11, 2009 Segment

Chicago, IL USA:

The Psychology behind SKiN ©2009 (my recently finished Novella of 44,000+ Words) ignites an Innovative Movement about Society’s Perception of Race & Race Relations, a Topic that is with us for the Length and Duration of our Lives. With People ‘hurting’ within ‘The Skin’ they are in, Gratification comes by knowing there are Fine Examples of Humans (among us) aiming to make Life better. This Act can be accomplished in a Number of Satisfactory Ways such as:

They may be Doctors and/or Nurses whose Professions are devoted to healing The Sick(ly);

They may be Nutritionists whose Professions are devoted to making People feel good inside and then, be able to endure what’s problematic on ‘The Outside;'

They may be Scientists working on Break-Throughs that range The Gamut of Abilities, Facilities and Utilities from A-Z;

They may be Educators whose chosen Professions (by trade) are linked to Higher Learning, not only to get along, but to be 'The Best' a Person can be(come);

They may be Writers (as myself) whose Creative Expressions strike The Core and Chord of Humanity with Words that are motivating, clear-cut and transcending;

or

They may be Artists (of the Painters’, Glass', Sculptors’ and Illustrators' Persuasions) who choose to 'Color Our World' in Shades that carry a strong Message to those viewing their Masterpieces.

In this Physical and Mindful Quest, that Piece of Art would complement SKiN (my Manuscript) so that The Combination of Words + Pictures could make an ever-lasting Impression (on Reader's and Viewer's both) since some Folks tend to be more graphics-oriented instead of print-oriented.

With this Plan-in-Mind, I made Arrangements to cover ART Chicago, The International Fair of Contemporary and Modern Art (marking its 29TH Year as of 2009) that I nicknamed:

mARTropolis.com ©2007

3 years ago, due to its convenient Location being in The Merchandise Mart (operated and run by the MMPIin Chicago, Illinois on Sunday, May 3.

These are 3 Shows (from a Compendium of 300 Trade Shows, Market Events and Conferences) MMPI produces annually, all of which are the Best I have ever attended. Their Return and Attendance Rates verify my Comment.

DISPELLING RACISM VIA THE COLORS ON YOUR PALETTE:

My Goal was to find the Top 11 Artists (from 110 Galleries that appeared from across The World) whose Art appealed to me (discriminating as I am) who 'colored' their World in the most vivid Tones, Colors and Shades, placed in asymmetrical Dimensions -- ever imagined and using a Medium whether it was Canvas, Oils/Acrylics, Glass, Papyrus, Linen, Clay, Heavy Metals, etc. that would enhance this Work of Art.

Off I went,
prowling along hallways;
squeezing behind counters and curtains;
peering up at Ceiling Facades;
talking to the Creatives and Gallery Owners;
glancing out Windows (whether real or mock); and
checking high and low and being as selective as I naturally am.

Discrimination is a volatile Issue attached to Skin, therefore RACE. How Discrimination becomes more of a Positive is when it is used to select Fine Art (as well as Clothing or any Commodities We need). Discrimination redefines Consumerism and can make a great Difference in The Life of an Artist.

IN THE EYE OF THE BEHOLDER: Great Art itself is what a Person sees, intprets and perceives on his own. How an Artist paints a Topic may be viewed as entirely different that what and how his/her Viewers and Fans see The Piece as and these comprise The Topics that fill up Encylopedias and are The Cause of significant Arguments and Debates.

ART is personal and may not be a Treasure to one as it is to another. Finding that Legion of Fans may take a Lifetime. It is a Job in itself! That's why Shows as these presented by The Merchandise Mart, give Artists that extra Visibility they so much need in order to excel.

ART can be as ‘fine’ as how The Word 'Fine' is defined, depending (of course) on what The Individual gravitates (to). Given the stagnating Economic Times We are now immersed in (if not drowing in), Art (that We enjoy) must be promoted ATM: All The More in order for 'The Piece' to captivate, sustain, enhance and transcend, as if it were a Living Organism.

After all, Art's Tendency is to brighten up a dark and gloomy Day. Wherever ART is placed, it was chosen to be there for a Reason - a Positive Reason that will instill a Response. The Choices these Artists have made in the Presentation of their Works at ARTropolis afforded them not only Sales, but FanFare and Write-ups, whether they are on Blogs, Newspapers or Fine Literary Magazines. They 'have arrived' is how they are recognized and received when appearing at Chicago's ARTropolis.

This was also an Opportunity for me to face The Skin of their Canvas and grasp Theories through their Strokes, Brush and Glass Marks they felt were as strong as my Words used in SkiN ©2009. Scouting for The Best of the ARTropolis Show was an Adventure, not to be missed.

TO RECAP: Faces (as you can tell from the Theme of SKiN) were The Theme and how they were painted (or artistically produced) was my Key Criteria. Included in my Selection from this Top 11 List for ARTropolis: 2009 are:

SUMMARY:

Prejudice hurts through The Skin to The Bone to The Heart of the Matter. With People hurting and feeling 'The Pain' because of The Skin they are born into, Art provides an Outlet (creative We could say) where Special Feelings are derived, drawn upon and subsequently stirred. Skin (painted in opulent and vibrating Shades) makes a commanding Statement. If these Skins (also delineated as a Painter's Canvas or other Medium/Surface he/she uses) can be colorful, then there is no Reason why Prejudice should shroud and even exist because of The Color of his/her Skin.

VIEWED ANOTHER WAY: Man's Tendency is to mimic. Make-up transforms a Person to feel more attractive. In this Vein, The Art on The Wall, on The Pedestal or on The Table (wherever that Objet d'Art is displayed) is no different than the Person coloring (tanning or bleaching) his/her Skin in colorful Make-up. Both Professions are lay Foundations through blushes and powdery shadows while being therapeutic in Nature all the while.

Another Artistic Account claims that: The Psychology of SKiN has every Thing to do with 'The Nature of The Animal' especially so when (the) Art appeals to The Senses and can induce Goose Pimples all over One's Skin as these designated Artworks painted by John, Roberto, Justine, Cintan, Yang, Dan, Owen, Robert, Malcolm, Philomena, Aaron, Corneille and Dan listed above do.

Lots can be read from Faces and Facial Expressions which all of these Renditions fully exhibited. To examine the complete List of Exhibitors who attended ARTropolis: 2009, visit the Website at:

http://www.artchicago.com/
Contact: Ms. Kasey Madden
Director of Public Relations / Art Chicago

for all Queries and Questions you may have about Show and its diverse Exhibitors.

MY SUGGESTIONS:

To any Art Book Publisher reading this Blog as Abrams or Taschen, this Blog sets forth the Idea that these Artist's Works should be placed in a Book expressing this Theme of Skin and Anti-Prejudice. Art not only is pretty to hang on The Wall or ‘on the Surface,’ but below ‘The Skin Level,’ it appeals to our Senses and unites all People like nothing quite else does, whether it was painted on cave walls or condo corridors.

For the discerning Collectors wanting to purchase a Work of Art, these 12 Pieces are highly recommended. Any of these Additions to your Collection will set you apart as a Provident Collector and is important in promoting The Arts, Man's Treasures of Self-Expression.

If you missed seeing these Artists, give yourself a Virtual Tour of their Galleries and Studios online and/or email them (stating where you heard of them – via me, ASK, The Author of SKiN ©2009) in order to see how ‘ART’ should work in today’s ever-changing World. Better still: Pack up 'The Family' and head out on a Vacation to see their Galleries and/or Studios, LIVE!.

NOTE: This 1,770-Word Blog will be emailed to the Top Art 350 Art & Popular Culture Magazines and Journalists around The World after SKiN, my Manuscript has been launched on June 15, 2009 to keep the Momentum of how Art colors our World alive.

“One Piece of Art alone (as the ones I selected here alone) can bind us, not divide us. L-o-n-g Division should only exist in Math.”

SKiN ©2009: The Script, The Book & The Odyssey: The May 10, 2009 Segment

Chicago, IL USA:

Dermatologists must really have a hey-day as there are 439,000,000 Entries on Google for Skin alone as of Today's Date. This does not take into account any particulars, no defining adjectives, horrible, lesionary diseases or verb additions. Plain and simple, there is a lot to be said about Skin whether We are Professionals, Doctors or just Bearers and Wearers (of it)

However, it's sad to say that many of us take Skin for granted. I do myself (at times) because of getting caught up in other Activities. When I first began writing SKiN (The Script and Story), one of the first facts I enjoyed revisiting dealt with the Fact that Skin is the largest Organ We (as in Humans) have, although all Creatures do have a Skin of some variety. Personally, I never thought of it as an Organ, like ears, eyes or tongue. It may depend on how we are wired or hot wired.

Although I probably first ran into that Detail in grade school, Skin has mushroomed into a Billion Dollar Industry with each successive Generation finding out more and more about what can be done to enhance it and keep it young, rejuvenated and invigorated. If your Skin is dry, it can become normal. If your Skin is oily, it, too, can be remedied. Skin can even be bleached, as we have found out. Artificial Skin has even been produced for those who have suffered accidents.

After all, where would our Nerve Endings go, if not in our Skin and with every Dilemma 'out there to annoy or disturb us' that can get under our Skin and on our Nerves, there's no better place. Its function is similar to The Police by serving and protecting, you could say. And if I don't say so myself: Don't say it, wear it proudly, as the Pages of SKiN relay.

SKiN ©2009: The Script, The Book & The Odyssey: The May 9, 2009 Segment

Chicago, IL USA:

What's most thrilling to see is an Individual or a committed Group who has your very same Goals in mind. This happened to me as I was on the #213 Pace Bus riding north to a Suburban Library to do my Saturday Research and Marketing Strategies for SKiN. A Billboard (in the bus that was sponsored by Allstate, The Insurance People and The YWCA) had united for a Campaign to:

Eliminate Racism

which runs parallel to what my Script & Book, SKiN ©2009 aims to do. Its Wording (which will be repeated here verbatim in order to advance and promote their Goals) stated:

“Until We face this for ourselves, We will go on satisfied with simple Answers, We will find ourselves confusing Racial Prejudice, Racial Discrimination and Racism.”

This is Dr. Dorothy L Height’s Quote. The Poster Graphic itself was very effective. Listed vertically down the Page were the Words:

Name:

Age:

Gender:

Race: Human.

No Name was filled in. No Age was filled in. No Gender was filled in because it really didn’t matter. What mattered (which is One of the 2 Themes of SKiN) is that We are all Members of the Human Race, plain and simple.

It didn’t matter what the Person’s Name, Age or Gender was (is or will be). The Poster’s Concept foretold that We are all Members of the Human Race. That was where its true effectiveness lies. Their Stance was to 'unlearn Racism' which is very much what young Brian Harris (based in California) did in 1997 with his Friendship Sees No Color Pen-Pal Campaign.

SKiN (on the other hand and you are in ‘good hands’ with Allstate, as their Motto goes) tends to show how Humans have radically and ‘racially’ changed the World by having Ten Characters explain it to ‘The Readers’ and how this affects daily life and the choices we make (or don’t make due to Racism).

The Allstate & YWCA Poster urges us (Humanity-at-large) to ‘Take your first Steps to unlearn Racist Behavior by downloading their Anti-Racism Toolkit at:

ywcalakecounty.org/endracism

ywcalakecounty.org/espanol

http://www.ywca.org/site/pp.asp?c=6dKIIWNtEnG&b=322289

By checking out their Website whose Foundation is in Waukegan, Illinois, I found that:

“As a company with a diverse population of employees, agents and customers, Allstate embraces Diversity in everything they do…”

Furthermore: The 93RD General Assembly of the State of Illinois declared April 30 as YWCA Day Of Commitment to Eliminate Racism in Lake County.”

My Comment: But as We all certainly know, Racism cannot be eliminated in One Day. It is a festering Cancer that has infected Mankind and must be worked on each Day and every Night. Allstate and The YWCA are to be commended and applauded for their Valiant Efforts in bringing Racism to light and for putting a Website up and Commemorative Day to declare their Intentions. Racism’s End begins with Promotions and Observations of this variety.

SKiN ©2009: The Script, The Book & The Odyssey: The May 8, 2009 Segment

Chicago, IL USA:

One of the Leading Pages (of a Grand Total of 160) states:

"It's like saying 'Good-Bye.'"

and Today I had that exact Feeling as I place the Finishing Touches on ‘The Script’ of SKiN ©2009 and prepare it for Copyrighting in Washington, DC. These Days with Automation being what it is...as The Process has become so simplified with Computers and The Internet...anyone anywhere can write (almost) anything and feel a Sense of Accomplishment. Even if the Piece never receives Accolades as an award winner that's turned into a box office hit by Steven Spielberg, the Sense of Accomplishment alone is something money cannot buy. If it could, the Price would be exorbitant.

Scene 20 of 28 in SKiN ©2009 contains a very Sad Segment when 'The Troupe' come upon and meet up with a Bat who later finds out she is on 'The Endangered Species List.' As 'Batina' (The Bat...I thought that would be a Good a Name as any - after all, it rhymes; is short and sweet and is clever enough to be remembered) bids her 'New Friends' good-bye', she does not know if she will ever see them again.

With the Popularity of Kevin Bacon’s 6 Degrees of Separation this Concept could possibly hold true in The Animal World, but you know, we (as Humans) have no way of finding this out. We’re savvy about The Homing Instinct in Animals, we know some Animals ‘mate’ for life, but as for them knowing Others who know them, well, that shall always remain a Mystery to Humanity.

That, too, is one of the Fun Things about Writing. You can change whatever needs to be changed to fall into and with the Story Line…even the SKiN you are in!

RETURNING TO BATINA: She does not want to tell The Troupe (consisting of GORF and his 9 Friends) ‘Good-Bye’ as IT could very well be final. And, as We all know: Final in Extinction is forever.

And...

"It's like saying 'Good-Bye.'"

reminded me at this time (on Friday, May 8, 2009 at 12:29 PM CST) that the Cursive Part of The Script is now completed. Started on Thursday, January 29, 2009, it started off with One Word, that Word being:

SKiN

and now has grown to 43,136 Words...or 43,135 more than what I had anticipated on that l-o-n-g, cold January Day. The Creative Part that drives and pushes the Writing has basically ended. That's also relatively sad; but the FUN Times are ahead. The Marketing begins. The Photo Shoots will again start. This is because I am also photo-illustrating The 10 Characters that can then be animated, etc. True to form, the Weather is beginning to feel spring-like and there are plenty of Forest Preserves in and around Chicago that will be the back-drop for their Adventures.

"After all, have you ever seen a Prop as beautiful as Nature. I know I haven't."

QUOTE OF: ASK

Friday, May 8, 2009 - 12:32 PM CST

SIDE-TRACKIN’: Fridays consistently mark (yet) another FAUX FUR FRIDAYS. Today is the 19TH of 52 in this Series that is happening in 2009. FAUX FUR FRIDAYS (again to reiterate) was the Concept that ignited this Novella and is a way to look great; save Animalia from Hunters, Poachers and Extinction and to instill the Heritage of Nature in us all.

IN CONCLUSION:

Therefore, instead of feeling badly that Part of The Project is done, there's always more Parts to look forward to...for Words, just happen to have that Tendency when you know how to write, compose and tell-it-like it should be.

SKiN ©2009: The Script, The Book & The Odyssey: The 5-7-9 Segment

Chicago, IL USA:

Numbers (as the 5-7-9 Theme above) is as interesting as Language itself. We tend to gravitate more towards one than the other while growing up. Mine, of course, was towards Language when I was in Grade School and 'The Basics' were being taught. I soon found that Language is one of themost fascinating and captivating Subjects I know. Letters and Words have always intrigued me. Even the Little Ones like IF to the BIG, l-o-n-g (too numerous to name) plus ones 'new on the Scene' to old Latin Terms that name every Creature (with a scientific bend or bent) on The Planet. How those Scholars ever did this unbeknownst to me, considering no Computers were there (to make their job easier) in which to record and preserve those Names. If there were, there'd be a hey-day with mis-spellings due to spell check that would need to be corrected. To me, they just look so beautifully created - from somebody's imagination.

Then, you have Creatures that have for so l-o-n-g been written about and continue to be on the Top Ten Lists for Movies and Books. 'Creatures' usually denote every Life Form 'outside of' Humans (homo sapiens) - Mankind.

Creature Comforts (as a term), however, denote the Comforts that Humans like, prefer and subsequently need to make their Lives 'the best' and for 'the Better.' Those are for Humans who like the added Accessories of Life, not the rhinestone studded collar for Fido or the extra stuffed Toss-Toys that Fido plays with in the backyard. They have done without these. Their daily agenda (if in the wild) doesn't really call for these Markings of Humanity.

TO TOP OFF THE DISCUSSION: Then, is it any wonder that Animal Terms have infiltrated our Language with terms as:

Bee Hive (Hair-do's)
Turtleneck Sweaters
and others...

that have found, meandered and sifted their Way into the Dialog and Conversations held by the 10 Toys - my Characters here - as they journey through the Pages of SKiN.

For still more SKiNsights (SKiN + Insights = SKiNsights) into this Writing, please check back tomorrow, that also coincides with the 19TH Celebration of FAUX FUR FRIDAYS, the Starting Point of this Project.

SKiN ©2009: The Script, The Book & The Odyssey: The May 6, 2009 Segment

Chicago, IL USA:

PART OF THE FUN of Writing SKiN ©2009 is that I got to air many of the Disturbances I have been disgruntled about the last 50 years. These were Items that We could say:

Got under my SKiN.

With the Internet and Writing being as simple as it has become, Writing to an automatic Audience (of which The Internet provides) is a safe and sound Outlet to vent some of those Philosophies and Pheelings that annoy a Person as myself who sees alot of misAlignments with what's happening. Of course, the first main ‘Airing’ that I talked about briefly on Monday was:

Mixed Signals

that are totally disruptive.

The Second is to decipher WHAT MATTERS in the course of one’s Day. If Mixed Signals are alleviated and a Person works on ‘WHAT MATTERS’ to themselves, then every Corner of their world can be accomplished in the SKiN he or she is in.

These Two Topics are of interest also because they resonate on many different Levels, not just on the SKiN Layer or Level. If a Signal is misread, Misperceptions may arise and that automatically can make a Dent in a Day, if not to cause a person to totally switch gears and proceed in a different Manner. Being in control is what’s needed in Situations as these. Throughout Man’s brief Stay and Course on 'The Planet,' he is seen as the Entity who supposedly is in control, but my Philosophies and Pheelings are such that he is not, just a pawn of NATURE, that to me…in all my Calculations is in Control…at all times.

With this Statement firmly in place, I was able to tackle the Conversation, Dialogue and Thought Processes between the 10 Stuffed Plush Toys as they ‘spoke’ about what it means to be Human through their Eyes. For a Writer, this was indeed THE FUN PART of developing their Characters and their own unique Personalities as We travelled through 28 Scenes.

For still more SKiNsights (SKiN + Insights = SKiNsights) into this Writing, please check back tomorrow.

SKiN ©2009: The Script, The Book & The Odyssey: The May 5, 2009 Segment

Chicago, IL USA:

Welcome to The Fifth Edition of 31 of the SKiN Expose that explain more of The Inner Workings & Process of how I created this Work. In my May 3rd Edition into the Dynamics of this Writing and Thought Process behind SKiN©2009, I used the Word:

ENJOY

in the Closing Line. ENJOY is a nice Word, if you can 'get it,' share it and keep it. But that is never the case. However, JOY is not something we all have in our Life. When We don't have it, that's when We feel IT the most - the lack of something hurts 'the most.' When We do have JOY (moments of it, as it's always fleeting), it's the Greatest Feeling ever! Isn't it a Pity that Moment is just so spontaneous and fleeting, especially today, Cinqo de Maio that is a Festive Day in the Latino and Hispanic Community that has become popular with everyone no matter what their Nationality is.

That is the power of Cross-Over, whether it's Music, Literature or Holidays.

With the Commercialization of every Topic from Holidays to Car Batteries, all SKiN Types can get into the Spirit of each Nationalities' Belief Systems and learn to 'get along' -- as Rodney King of Los Angeles stated long ago...in the 1900s in that Era when SKiN was Skin and more hostilities and misunderstandings occurred.

Hopefully, Understanding between 'The Races' will happen, unless Man gets in his own Way and the Mixed Signals are blasted into overload. What truly Matters essentially is what Life is all about. Thoughts (like this) are found in SKiN.

Please check back Tomorrow and throughout the Month of May for more Insights into the Novella.

SKiN ©2009: The Script, The Book & The Odyssey: The May 4, 2009 Segment

Chicago, IL USA:

While writing SKiN ©2009 (that began on January 29, 2009 through April 30, 2009), I needed Feedback on the way it was proceeding. Positive Reinforcement and pats on the back; scratches behind my Ears, if I was a pooch is what this form of Gratifification would be called.

Therefore, I solicited the Help of 3 Friends:

Jessica
Gary &
Lowell

who had never read any of my Writings before to see what they thought and to register their Reaction. This processs happened at the end of March. Their Reactions were:

Jessica: Great Plot.
Gary: Eloquent Writing.
Lowell: Interesting Topic.

These Takes allowed me to continue writing The Plot and to add to the Word Count. Outside Public Opinion is necessary in an Opus like this, not only from 'The General Public' but from Fellow Artists and Professionals as Author/Former Literary Agent and Concert Pianst Lenny Cavallaro (a Friend of Mine) from Boston. Lenny seriously suggested I take the Theme of:

Mixed Signals and What Matters

and extend it to either 35,000-50,000 Words making it into a Novella.

Evidently, he believed a Novella would 'sell' easier than a book with less wordage.

Only Time would give me that Opportunity to E-X-P-A-N-D it and became the Reason why I tacked on another Month -- the Month of April -- in which to make those Additions.

I have often wondered when a Painter knows when he realizes his Piece is finished; when it is complete and if it is of Masterpiece Quality (yet). Maybe it's just a gut feeling we artists and authorly types have that signals to us to step and realize that:

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH
(a l r e a d y)

Therefore, working and writing every Day and proof-reading and revising every Night, after 3 full and exciting Months, SKiN grew from One Word:

SKiN

that was my Initial Thought to over 41,000 Words! Now, that's definitely the Way to spend a Cold and Icy Winter...one of the coldest on Chicago Meterological Records...indoors and hard-at-work on a Manuscript that poignantly and cleverly 'scripts' out what it means to be Human in the SKiN you are in.

Won't you please check back Tomorrow for more Insights (or should We say: skINSIGHTS?) into the Essence of SKiN.

SKiN ©2009: The Script, The Book & The Odyssey: The May 3, 2009 Segment

Chicago, IL USA:

A few Friends have mentioned that SKiN's Name or Title may sound like a SKIN Flick, and with that Thought in mind, let's quickly get to the Real SKiNny on that Comment for the Third of 31 Installments on the Book, Script and Odyssey named:

SKiN

The Answer (in a Word) is a scintillating (or SKiN-tillating) 'no!' Many times in our Daily Life, We are stumped and puzzled by Life Situations that arise...besides those things that go 'bump in the night.' These Happenings stop us in our Tracks and for a Moment, we have to stop in our tracks, (sometimes GASP), regroup and figure out what's happening.

Certain levels and frequencies exist to the Inconveniences (that can range from People to The Weather) that affect all Humans, Animals and Creatures on the Planet E. And, as We all know, it is The Objects that We come in contact with each Day that slow us down as We try to pursue the Work, the Arts, the Activities and The Dreams we need to do and get those Activities done, on a timely and satisfactory level.

I know this to be true because I'm officially now 56 & 9 months old (as of May 9, 2009) and there has been alot of Stimulus rushing past me for this Period that I can detail and have. SKiN is actually this Period of Observations on a vast many topics that have been near and dear to me as well as a thorn-in-my-side (left, right, back and far sides).

"OK, you say. Cut with the Psychology Today Lingo and Jargon already, Adrienne!" Which I always place in my BALE: Blogs, Articles, Limericks & Essays, as opening Filler and Insight.

Take 2: The First of Two (2) Main Themes of SKiN ©2009 is the intriguing Concept of:

Mixed Signals

that have been continuously throughout Man's Era since he learned to Tool-Make.

Continuously Mixed Signals surround us at every Move we make and made and with every Thought we have ever devised. Many of those Decisions were activiated by a Signal that was mixed and We had to make a quick Decision that was not one we had previously thought we would 'be' making. Needless to say, that Act alone can cause stress and distress.

Mixed Signals are how Humans interpret them, with whatever Abilities he/she possesses or doesn't. That's where the Trouble sets in and that sets THE STAGE for life (as it is), could be, should be and would be...if ONLY...

Those helpful Aids in accessing Mixed Signals include:

Knowledge,
Intelligence,
Common Sense and
Language Skill Abilities.

However, if a Mixed Signal is interrupted in the wrong Manner, Life for that Day becomes a Misperception, one that can have dire experiences for the SKiN you are in. It can become a Nightmare or a Marvel.

Presently, the Words accident pops into mind here, as well as trials and tribulations brought on because of what Mixed Signals cause.

Parenthetically and with an IT: Ironic Twist, each and every one of us is born...garbed in SKiN and that's where all those Misconceptions begin...in the Shades and Tones you are born 'into,' be it your Coating is:

Black, Brown, Red, Yellow or White.

Yes, all of the Daily Foibles and Mixed Signals that enter our Day can be traced to the Humblest of our Beginnings to our SKiN.

Does that mean We should instantly blame our Parents again (which many of us seem to do) for Things they have no Cntrol over or about?

No...it means that there are Situations that arise in our Days that need to be cleared up before Progress can be made...the Mixed Signals must be alleviated in order to get to the Heart of

WHAT MATTERS.

What Matters is the Second Concept that I address in SKiN. And, there you have it, Dear Readers: The 2 Timely and Prevailing Topics of SKiN©2009 is:

1) not a Commercial or Advertisement for Dove Soap

or

2) A Hustler Magazine Insert

or

3) a New Sun-Tan Product that alleviates UV Rays due to Global Warming and Wrinkles due to the splendors of Aging .

It is a 41,000+ Word Novella whose 2 major themes discuss:

Mixed Signals
&
What Matters.

Please check back Tomorrow for more Insights into the Dynamics of SKiN of which you may enjoy.

SKiN ©2009: The Script, The Book & The Odyssey: The May 2, 2009 Segment

Chicago, IL USA

Most of you have seen me with GORF, the 24" tall Plush Toy Frog with the 11" Grin that I have been promoting as:

'Chicago's First Green Mascot'
'Illinois' Foremost Toy Ambassador'
'Nature's Greenest Mascot'
&
'The Icon of The Green Movement'

since January 28, 2005.

Having proclaimed: 2006-2016 as:

THE DECADE OF THE FROG
with GORF officiating

I have devoted myself to helping this Endangered Species for a Decade of my Life. What's tremendous about the Creative Process is that it (in itself) can lead to areas that were quite unbeknownst before and this is how SKiN ©2009 enters The Picture.

WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT: SKiN ©2009 is the Script & Book about GORF (that's 'Frog' back-words, you know) and 9 of his Friends (all stuffed Plush Toys found in my Toy Box as I am an ardent Toy Collector since Birth) who also 'share' the Planet with Humans (People of the likes of me and you). Many of them are also on the Endangered Species List.

SHARE may be the wrong Word. There are, as we all know Folk who won't, wouldn't and haven't shared a Thing with no one else, or ever. That is The Premise of this Composition. As a Collective Whole,

THE TROUPE (i.e.: The entire Flock of Toys)

share their Insights as to how Man has survived this l-o-n-g on The Planet.

Hey, by just having prehensile thumbs and a bigger brain does not mean you are automatically King of the World, as THE TROUPE will soon discover. That's the Ammunition The Toys have -- as opposed to Man(kind).

That forms the Basis of the 10 Toy Animals' Dialog as they very carefully uncover and discover a Treasure Trove of Facts about Surviving, especially so when many of us (OK, put the 'Blame' on your neighbors)) are prejudiced and racial.

CLOSING: Stay tuned again tomorrow and for the entire Month of May for the next Snippet sketching out The Details of and Plots behind and underlying

SKiN ©2009: The Script, The Book & The Odyssey,

my latest Creative Contribution to Modern Literature.
